Prolly because many people dont like the fact that the base and plus models still have a 60hz screen in 2024. 60hz displays are mostly in the midrangers and even some of them, (if not most of them) already have 90-120hz screens.

In America our choices are effectively down to Apple, Samsung, Google, Motorola, and maybe OnePlus if you're on T-Mobile. Sony officially gave up on us this year, and last year's 5 series was never sold here either.

Anonymous, 25 Oct 2024No surprise, really. I don't want to pay big money for... moreDon't forget that the Sony has a 120Hz screen. If you want a 120Hz screen in an iPhone, you have to go for the Pro version. And here in Malaysia, it's more expensive than the Xperia. The iPhone 16 Pro 256GB is about $120 more than the Xperia 5 V 256GB.

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2024And pro models skyrocketed, right? Because we have to wait ... moreIf people didn't care Apple wouldn't purposely gatekeep it to the Pro series. 120hz screens are not expensive, midrange android phones are all 120hz now.

I think that should be expected to be honest. It isn’t even much of a decline, close to 10% less sellings, I would expect more. Apple delayed for so long to give hrr to the base models, people started to care because now almost every other phone has it. Rumors have it that next year base models will eventually have it so I think some of the potential buyers are waiting for next year. Also the fact that the next SE is right around the corner played some role. So yeah, Apple should expect that decline, and they did as it seems, they almost predicted it right.

And pro models skyrocketed, right? Because we have to wait 8 weeks to receive the iphones.
Also, i think its silly to talk about falling sales because of 60hz display. 99% of worlds people don't even care what is the refresh rate of their phone or tv, it's just a few gamers out there seeking for such screens.

DamirE30, 26 Oct 2024Try on ios this: Try download music from web, convert video... moreIt’s always the ppl who have obviously never tried using iOS a day in their life that make these comments lol.
To download music from web, just download the mp3? You can put the mp3 wherever you’d like, iOS has a native files app to manage it. You can use the yt to mp3 websites and just download the mp3 but the easier option is to just sideload the modified YouTube’s that allow video and audio downloading, I personally prefer uYouPlus but all of them will work if it has DLeasy baked in. For icons, excluding iOS 18’s new icon theming, most ppl do shortcut icon themes, since ios 17 the shortcuts app doesn’t do the splash screen thing so it’s the best option. To change refresh rate you can go to settings/accessibility/motion and then choose limit frame rate, this locks the device to a 60hz limit instead of the default 1-120hz. To turn off animations is the same menu just choose reduce motion. On iOS you do f use Bluetooth for anything but audio or devices, file transfer stuff all happens with WiFi (which is much faster). It was frustrating for me when I switched that all of my automotive Bluetooth only devices didn’t work with iOS and I had to buy the more expensive WiFi/bluetooth versions. For developer options just go to settings/privacy and security /developer mode and turn it on, that will turn on the developer mode settings tab in settings. For dual boot you need an older hardware iPhone like iPhone X or lower to dual boot Android or multiple iOS versions, every year Apple includes new hardware security and newer jailbreaks take time to catch up to the hardware changes, it’s been a while since new hardware exploits have come out at the bootrom level.
I agree Android can do a lot more things, but iOS can do most if not all of them better imo. Again, it’s just the learning curve that is too high for ppl who start on Android to switch over.

DamirE30, 26 Oct 2024Try on ios this: Try download music from web, convert video... moreJust try a simple thing like positioning cursor in the middle of a word when you misspell it. I can't believe how difficult such a simple thing is on iOS.

Anonymous, 25 Oct 2024I used to think like this until I actually forced myself to... moreTry on ios this: Try download music from web, convert video from yt to mp3 on sites etc, try to change icones like they totaly look different, try change refresh rate, speed of animation, transition speed, try yo send anyone else whos not ios over Bluetooth like files, documents, music. Try have developer option at all... Try to install dual boot to have multiple roms on phone or hsve diferent os etc... There is a lot more thst Android can do and ios can't or its locked. Android is way more open and user friendly.

Seran Mizorogi, 25 Oct 2024So nice of you to have home cloud. I just want a simple fil... moreYou don’t have to use a cloud service at all it’s just more convenient. I just have one since ironically it was when Samsung removed the sd card from their phones I was forced to get one and I never looked back, it’s useful for so much more than phone stuff like htpc. There are things built into windows 11 like Phone link that will work but intel has the unison program that’s similar to phone link but also includes file sharing wirelessly. There might even be some airdrop stuff for windows that still work, I haven’t been keeping up with it but I do remember a few, that’s how Mac to iPhone transfers stuff.
Unless you just today peeled the plastic off of your iPhone it has charge cycles on it.. and there is no way in heaven the settings app is taking seconds to switch pages.. lol The iCloud menus in settings will sometimes lag microseconds because the page is pulling data from the internet to show you but it sounds like you’re lying or have some serious hardware issues.
In Android the os is separate from the apps, thus the play store is completely separate and can be updated. On iOS it’s a walled garden, the os has everything from security patches, to play store, to system apps baked into every os update. If you are behind on os updates you’re also behind on App Store updates, security patches, etc.
As for your friends iPhone X.. that thing is ancient! lol Microsoft outlook says iOS 17 is the minimum and the iPhone X didn’t get that as it is far too old. There are ways to update apps on older iOS though, gotta use pc programs to sideload the ipa. It just depends if once the app is on there if it checks device os version or not, the. He’d have to use checkrain jailbreak to spoof the os version.

Seran Mizorogi, 25 Oct 2024I'm using iPhone rn because everyone keeps harping on ... moreApple to non Apple hardware is always a pain. These people just got used to cloud/online transfer so they don't notice how PITA it was.
My windows laptop has no issues working with almost any brand, including Huawei.
OTG is also just a simple drag and drop away with no limitations and extra steps like IOS to usb otg.
Then we have gamers praising it's performance who probably never saw a proper game benchmark on youtube. Iphone proceeds to throttle after a certain time period with heavy games and end up need a cooler to regain some performance.

I never thought it could be this daunting. Even if I transfer media through the cloud, I still have to figure out how to make them appear on Photos app.
Mine is 100% battery health, new at 0 cycle. I thought everything would be instantaneous based on how everyone is telling me. But navigating through some settings (not all) takes a few seconds to load. I understand if it's some games, but for Setting, and Apple's own apps, it should be instantaneous.
Not sure what you mean by App Store is baked into the OS, while PlayStore is not.
His is iPhone X. Can't install Outlook, Garage band etc. My Android from the same era can install Outlook and other apps except for some games.
