Such a disapointment when a deluxe brand like them disappear from the markets, for your own info in Egypt such a brand is never heard of for 90 % of the population. I do report this happening due to the global financial we are all having that s true, but let me also highlight that lots of other brnads spend more on publicity which carries out your products from darkness into light and make people awareness also spread the news about it so thus Sales are increased of course accordingly. in Egypt here Nokia is one of the worst, Sony Ericsson, HTC and Motorola remain the best quality products in the markets but not the cheapest of course. Nokia is kiiling itself with the latest commercial models.

call me anonymous, 31 Oct 2008actually.. i don't see things that prove that Motorola will... moreAbsolutely agree with you! Overall, Motorola are still producing the best quality all round phones.

Nokia are the biggest, their phones used to be reliable & pretty solid; but not any more! ... All Nokia phones get very hot during conversation (including my mom's 8800 Arte & My Sapphire Arte)!!!

Vertu is just another brand name by Nokia. It's basically the same phone as the 8800 with a different dress. The screen is small, but the fonts are even smaller which make it hard to read! The only pro about about Vertu phones are their sound quality & material choice.

B&O phones are designed by B&O & made by Samsung. B&O phones are not even friendly to use (like their dial pad) & to me; they look quite ugly too. They don't even look elegant by any mean!

It's a good choice that B&O cancelled this phone & stop their hand phone business; cause they know darn well that it's not going to sell - even for half the price they ask for...

Nokia will not close down, but they will definately lose market share because of competition from other big manufacturer i.e SE, Samsung, LG & Motorola.

How could people suggest that Motorola may close down mobile phone business? No way, Motorola still produce some very good phones that people appreciate. Moto is coming with their top line phone...AURA, which beat Nokia top line phones like the 8800 or even Vertu (I have both) hands down - with the AURA's excellent design & top quality.

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2008the next manufacture which will cancel cellphone business i... morei don't think vertu will be the next one being closed, since it was supported by the biggest phone manufacturer behind their back.

btw, found the link about the first B&O GSM phones:
            http://www.beoworld.org/products.asp

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2008the next manufacture which will cancel cellphone business i... moreactually.. i don't see things that prove that Motorola will be the next to close after vertu... come to think that Motorola discover/ed in phones that nokia, se and other company get from them simple features that Motorola originate but other companies just copied... i also think that some of it are simple but important... evidence/s: in 1985 motorola invented the first cellphone the Motorola dynaTAC this phone started/changed the mobile industry.. Motorola starTAC was the first clamshell handset also the first phone to feature a vibrate function....

Good move, as both of these phones were way overpriced, ugly and underpowered. There are many other phones that say "I'm successful" that can be had for less money, that offer more functions and better styling.

I think its a good bold step. Cos their phones is only made for d few 'haves' in the society, to flaunt their wealth. They should re-direct their resources to phones dat are affordable to an average person.

In fact that Samsung used their own technology for audio processing DNSe 2.0(INNOV8) was better than when they used technology from Bang & Olufsen(Serenata, SGH-i450, SGH-U900 Soul, SGH-F400).

Whoops, sorry about double post, but lagged so much, anyway; my friend had the MP3 player, it was so complicated to use as it had no screen, but the music quality was the best I've heard on any device, that includes the iPhone, it was incredible.

HOWEVER, their phones were RUBBISH, simple as that, really.
