All of my previous ROG Phones 3, 5 and 6D all had dead motherboard just after several months of usage. There motherboard is weak as heck but charging $1000 for that? jeez.

      My aging RM8Pro even being used for 2yrs on heavy gaming and being my daily driver with several drops still doesn't have any major issues. That's Asus quality for you, th4sh as always.

          So SD Elite really delivers the big performance increase, but it all depends on cooling... U guess regular phones will throttle down/tune down a bit the performance, but still it's
          More than impressive.
          It's good to see power efficiency is not only a marketing talk, i think many of us were scared this monster will need car battery to sustain a day ;)

          Overall... nice next gen flagship

                    What's the point of gaming phones?!

                    There are no games beyond the capabilities of a Snapdragon 860. Even emulation stops at PS2 and isn't even being further developed.

                    You buy a Switch with a 10 year old soc and get to opay way more games.

                    Really, 8gen2 was end of the line. Now they're just taking the piss.

                      2 years of major update & keep the bootloader lock.. useless phones … Asus is really put the nail on their own coffin.

                      Yes, I still hold grudges about Asus promise to restore their unlocked bootloader software.

                          Let's start comparing phones with larger batteries Si/C or l-ion to phones of the same 2 specs with LOWER capacity and see WHICH ones last longer in any single use case or overall. We can use what's been tried and true tested by GSMArena shall we?!

                          THAT alone will render this argument point MUTE!

                          When advertising rings TOO strong remember what Public Enemy said back in the 90's
                          "Don't ...... (screach) Don't Don't Don't Don't Believe the Hype!"

                          Never jump on bandwagons .... research for yourself.
                          Also these Si/Ca batteries do NOT last as long when the charge cycles go up to 1000 (less than 2yrs 2x charge per day. When you begin to use heavy use case - like a gaming phone will ) ... you'll be hard pressed to really be singing the praises of Si/Ca batteries then.

                          We'll revisit this debate in 2yrs.

                                Batteries are horizontally mounted in the 9 Phone/9Phone Pro and as such the PCB or motherboard and wiring is a lot different than standard so how do YOU KNOW about space?! You're not a design engineer so it doesn't matter to anyone what YOU don't buy about space within and what can be accomodated. Simple fact you've NOT designed this product so all your spitting is your own opinion. I'm challenging this by what you do NOT have in facts.

                                I'm not stating I have the facts - except the battery layout which is obvious to anyone who's been using phones and a phone geek for 3 decades now since the original Ericsson R386/T-36/T-39m and T-18z! I'm simply stating your opinion doesn't have any more value than anyone elses yet you're spittin like it does or that yours means more. That's just armchair CEO'ing and there are FAR TOO many on GSMarena doing that.

It's very obvious that this phone's processing has issues, as does its hardware. The 3× periscope suffers from purple fringing along the edges, which is an optics issue. This gets exacerbated by poor processing decisions that also screw up other parts of the image, and they also crank up the the ISO and shoot at fast shutter speeds to compensate for the small sensor, causing overexposure.

                                    Have you USED this product YET? Camera's alone do NOT take pictures but the DSP as well as the lenses and lense cover (plastic or glass) make a HUGE difference! We've seen this with the Samsung GS 23-24-ZFold 4/5/6 which takes average but good pictures yet BETTER and more stabiliized video than ANY of the folding competition.

                                    Also NOBODY that's rated or tested those camera's on youtube have EVER engaged the ProRES/ProRAW functions of those products cameras! Thtat's VERY telling because opposite fanboys do NOT know the product in FULL to know what their talking about.

                                    So please tell me have you USED this ROG 9 Phone Pro product yet or you just basing your conjecture from a COMPLETELY different phone altogether and expecting everything to be the same????!

                                      Samsung is in the works to imolement their own LLM/AI know how for future devices including updating Bixby. Samsung has a DEEP LLMs in play across their BeSpoked lineup of other products in the household. Not sure why it took them this long. Also will include their own OS for shortcuts luvraries and scripts.

                                        Chinese non gaming phones offer 6500mah with faster charging. Lower price, same memory options and more OS updates.
                                        Gaming phones seem needless.
