Samsung is finally bringing 45W charging to Galaxy A series

-- 15 Minute charge will fill up 40% instead of 30%
-- 30 Minute charge will fill up 70% instead of 55%
Only the 15 minute & 30 minute charging percentages are going to be improved, the total time will stay the same.

This proves my hypothesis once again, that A5x series is always updated in 2 year intervals.
A50 was revolutionary for the A series at the time, but A51 was barely different. Then A52 brough lots of improvements. IP67, stereo speakers, 25W charging etc etc.
Yesteryear, A54 to A55 was almost nothing, maybe just small performance and battery life improvements. But from the leaks we have been getting, A55 to A56 seems to be bringing us a great performance boost, a better selfie camera, likely thinner body (the leak was about A36 but if A3x is getting thin, A5x is likely to get thin too) and now faster charging.
I know no one is ever happy with samsungs fast charging options, but I personally don't mind it. 40% in 15 minutes is fine by me.
But I honestly would prefer wireless charging and a telephoto camera over 45W charging. If you're scared that it will blend S and A too much, keep it basic in the A series. Like 5W wireless with no reverse wireless or a 2x telephoto.

Nameless, 19 Nov 202425W is plenty. They better give wireles charging for A5X.Yes they should decrease it to 18w because we are unable to handle the gargantuan speeds at Samsung charges at 25w

Charging speed is regulated by~#1 battery #2 cable and then #3 charger in that order
Using a fast charger does NOT speed up the process
Type C standard cable 60W
USB / micro usb (with type C adapter) due to USB / micro usb able 18W (so not even 25W at present)
Conversely Type C with and USB / micro usb plug extra slow charging
There is the persistent Samsung bashing troll who now still can't stop 45W Good 25W bad

I think Samsung did something internally. Their 25W Super Fast charging, doesn't charge as quick now. Weird.

What you described... moreYou are welcome. I've owned quite a few Samsung's in the past, they are good phones overall, but I hate OneUI and all the Samsung bloatware inside. And they tend to "get you" with software updates and things like this article. The small things they hope you miss on. I hate that, I find it disrespectful and S23 was my last Samsung. Good riddance.
This new 45W charging, while good in theory, comes with caveats that most people will miss and only understand when they get their new phone and start looking for a charger for it. That's borderline scam. If the phone already can handle 4.5A of current, there is no reason it cannot do 20V/4.5A, which is 90W (!). But there is not way in hell Samsung will give you 90W charging before year 2050 so instead they do this. Gotta milk them all.
