What you described only confirmed that it was good that I abandoned Samsung in favor of Chinese brands.

Let's give a slow clap to Samsung for going higher & better.

I'm still surprised that they are very unwilling to try out 60W+ charging on certain devices just to create proper variety. They've long lasted under 30W which is painfully slow by today's standards. The benefits of fast charging (to a point) almost always outvalue the cons of faster battery degradation.

CoinSide, 19 Nov 2024When you buy a 45 watt charger, it comes with a cable that ... morePoint is, most chargers avoid going above 3A, because it means more heat, which means better components, which means more $$$. Most 45W chargers do 45W at like 20V/2.25A and most 65W ones go 20A/3A. Nobody does 45W at 9V or 10V, except the most expensive ones that are usually rated for 100W or more.
Which means most people will have to throw away their current chargers, even if they are 45W ones and get a new more expensive one, if they want to charge their new Samsung at 45W.
With this charging spec Samsung basically says 25W for the everyone (9V/2.7 is basically on any charger) and 45W if you buy a 60€+ charger. And even then there is no guarantee that it will work, because Samsung's PPS is not standard AFAIK.

                  No 512 GB variant ?

Nameless, 19 Nov 202425W is plenty. They better give wireles charging for A5X.25W is outdated and Ultra Slow.

I'm not supporting Samsung here since I'd still rather have my charger in the phone box but you get the point.

Darth Caesium, 19 Nov 2024Who cares? Samsung's proprietary 45W charging isn'... moreExactly. Just look at the picture, only the last 10V/4.5A charging mode would result in 45W charging, which means you need :
                          - a charger that supports that mode (good luck with that, most go from 9V/3A straight to 12V or even 15/20V)
                          - a cable that is rated for at least 5A

Samsung cables in the box are 3A ones, barely. So in most cases this new A56 will charge at 9V/2.7A or , if you find a charger that supports it, 10V/3A, because 90% of cables out there are 3A-rated or less. Which means the same 25W, 30W max, charging as before.
                          It's a marketing trick.

I almost got OP12 because of charging speed but got s24u. With 25w charger my s24u takes exactly 67 minutes to full charge from 10/15% (last 20% takes 30 min almost though). With 10 hours + SOT it's definitely not as bad as people make it seem.

With 45w, it should be 10-15 min lesser. Why are people fixated with 100W fast charging though if 25/45w can fully charge in an hour. Though I experienced 100W OP charging twice and it's definitely a huge difference in real life and perk that every flagship should have.

Samsung 25w/45w isn't as slow as people make it seem.1 hour is not that long
