24 November 2024
With the power of the Snapdragon 8 Elite and the speed of a 185Hz display, these could be the best gaming phones of the year - or are they?

I had the first and second ROG Phone and went back to Samsung thereafter. The software support is lacking. When they plan/announce the next phone, everything else becomes obsolete.

The features that make a great gaming phone can make a great media consumption device. Massive battery, great screen with no hole punch and strong speakers. The power of the chipset also makes for a smooth UI/app experience and future proofing.

I'm on 8 pro and the Air triggers are hit or miss
can be annoying when you needed it most you will call it and will miss. atimes input will be registered on screen but won't perform the action
I'm sure problem will persist on 9 pro because it is using same capacitive trigger touch

Not a gamer, so a phone this bulky and heavy is not my cup of tea.

The price for both models are matching an iPhone series and yet only 2 OS update and 5 years security updates?? 🙄 Better buy iPhone than this 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

No, the camera system remains as weak as ever, and now they're no longer the only "24GB RAM & 1TB Storage phone" game in town. Granted, the Honor Magic 6 and 7 RSR are even more expensive, but at least they come with a pretty good camera system, and we've got cheaper alternatives to the ASUS RIG Phone offerings in the form of the ZTE Z60 and Z70 Ultra and latest Redmagic Pro(+) iterations.

                      Gaming phones are useless devices.
There are no games that benefit from SOCs better than a SD 860. And for the same price you can get an all-a-round better general flagship phone, minus the active cooling. Why on Earth would anyone buy a gaming phone when you can get a flagship Samsuj, Xiaomi, or any other brand, that actually has good cameras and gets updates...and has the dame SOC?!

I own Asus RoG Phone 8 Pro edition....I'm not interesting for updating to 9..

How much? 😳... Might as well get a midranger and ROG Ally that point... The redmagic is a much better deal than this 💀

One of the worst software support in the industry, so definitely not.

                                        These are remarkable devices.

There is no competition to these when it comes to horrendous value, nonsensical specs, a camera worse than generative AI from 2 years ago.

It's amazing how a company so big can be so out of touch.

Asus - in search of incredible audacity.
