The Vivo X200 Pro could be an alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S-series as Vivo gets better and better while Samsung's cameras are lacking pace in innovation and progress.

Verum, 04 Dec 2024This is what I think. Let's talk politics. Vivo and... moreIt's not to do with politics, it's to do with taxes and profit margin. The more expensive the phone, the less they tend to make off manufacturing them. There's a certain price point that people stop purchasing at because they become too expensive. The ultra models all hit over a £1000 in the UK. There is a limited amount of people willing to spend that kind of money. After tax, they reach a price of £1200. With how expensive the components are, especially if they are using Qualcomm snapdragon 3 elite, the profit margin is about £100. That doesn't include the cost to import the phones from their country of manufacture. You begin to see the price to make and distribute becomes too costly for the amount that will sell outside of China. Xiaomi has a greater presence in Europe, and tend to sell more because of that, and that helps to outway the costs of manufacture and distribution. Oppo and vivo have some to no presence in Europe, especially since oppo has struggled with patent disputes with HMD global, resulting in the ban of their premium model phones in key markets outside of China.

They're never going to ever be taken seriously if they keep on releasing their "mid" tier products globally while keeping the actual good models in their circle. Last global Vivo flagship was X80 Pro/+. Still one gorgeous looking phone.

The Android Freak, 05 Dec 2024Yes. One Plus 13 also have it. Oneplus 13 has the required bands for Europe but the Vivo x200 and OPPO find x8 are missing the key B20 band

Also people love to bash chinese brands for increasing costs in reality you're paying for tarrif set by the governments of respective countries.
Chinese smartphone markets are way more profitable for them while samsung and apple(declining sales) doesn't profit in China.

Anonymous, 04 Dec 2024Samsung is banking way too much on brandingSamsung is finished to be honest. No camera upgrades, no fast charging, same battery capacity. Software update not on time. Pixel and Chinese OEMs has got faster which cost half of Samsung flagships. Even those costs 1/4th/1/5th of Samsung flagships have got Android 15 update.

It is so disappointing that companies like vivo, oppo, realme, OnePlus, don't release their ultra flagships outside China. Xiaomi stylishly tag along with them by releasing their ultra flagships but only the 512GB option, what happen to their 1TB option. All thanks to Samsung and Apple who normally release their flagships globally with no condition attached to it. Samsung and Apple will release their flagships globally with high-end features please all memory variants and I believe both companies are making sales from it because if they're not making sales from it, they will never release their products globally. So why can't the Chinese company do the same thing? I will rather stick to Samsung or Apple than to go for all those Chinese mobile phones.
