OnePlus announces new program to deal with green line issue

Glad OnePlus is addressing this issue in India unlike Samsung which makes money out of customers misery with green lines in their line up. My dad's OnePlus 8 Pro developed green lines couple of times, first time it fixed it for free next time it offered buy back worth $450 worth. I love InePlus brand which has very good resale value in India compared to Samsung mobiles!

LOL, I remember when the OnePlus One had the "yellow screen" issue they said was because they set the display to a "warmer" temperature then it was found to be a display manufacturing defect.
I gave up one the Oppo knock off's.

I ditched pixel and galaxy ultra for my spouse and I and haven't looked back. No screen issues on our OnePlus flagships.

Samsung shipped the display in good condition and met all the specification requierement also being approved by the buyer (chinese companies). Same case for other supplier that sold other parts for the companies.
If some issue occur from the phone after being manufactured it is because of poorly designed phone , in this case its chinese brand.
Only small number of samsung phone suffer greenline, 99,99% of samsung phone work perfectly well. In reality i have only seen chinese brand (mostly oppo) and iphone with greenline/pink line, but never with samsung.

NoMany absent flagship features on OnePlus Open:
-old chipset
-no desktop mode
-no IPX8 rating
-no wireless charging
-no 7 years software support
-not so popular brand image (chinese brand)
-not designed exclusively (this is rebranded Oppo Find N3)
-mediocre night mode camera
-massive size of stylus accesories
-poor experience in multitasking
-half baked looking User Interface
-only few number of official store worldwide
I am waiting for Oneplus Open 5 in 2027 to see for the improvement, and all flagship features.

"OPPO greenline"... moreAll Flexible OLEDs are getting greenlines, all phones with tiny bezels use flexible OLED bent usually at the bottom to decrease the bezel.
Samsung Displays suffer from this more than from any other manufacturer but it still happens.
All the companies you mentioned above use Samsung Displays more often than the rest.
All the companies you mentioned above have have high green line failure rates because all of them are somewhat equally popular in India a place with many humid areas.

Personal tests : While IPS on full blast can do 600mah, going anything lower than full blast will dramatically decrease power consumption. AMOLED on the other hand can't go below 200 and uses 600 easily not even on 100%. Turn on high brightness mode and we are above 1000mah. Using AMOLED black themes is required if you don't want to blast trough your battery.

If samsung (or any brand with high number of user) had given lifetime warranty, it would only led many of hundred millions of user to intentionally break its screen and then resell it as new condition because it has high brand value.
Thats why lifetime warranty only works for brand with not so many user.
