Better use IPS LCD's instead of this fragile amoled's. High quality LCD will not degrade for a decade or so, whereas Amoled will begin to degrade after 2 years. You can stretch it to 3-4 years if you follow preventive measures.

ua82, 06 Dec 2024Reason why flagships use oled , grey blacks , no always on ... morewell yes all flagships use amoled, there are few flagships use IPS. from what i remember it's an Mi 10T series. older flagships may have either IPS or AMOLED.

BMHater12, 06 Dec 2024I bet the Indian owners are heavy gamers that play a thousa... moreprobably they are also watching youtube shorts or snackvideo (which is basically kwai) all day with full brightness as well.

I bet the Indian owners are heavy gamers that play a thousand hours of Free Fire or PUBG in max settings to get these green lines on their screens

The Android Freak, 06 Dec 2024What are you using right now? Redmi K50i?he's right that amoled is "fragile" and expensive to make or repair.. hell even a software update can ruin the display by putting green lines, or even pink.

Anonymous, 06 Dec 2024You should have another asterisk next to power consumption ... moreoled displays lots of white? probably you crank the brightness all the way up, it's called nits for a reason, the higher the nits, the brighter and also higher power consumption.

"Finally, OnePlus is offering lifetime warranty against the green line issue on all its smartphone models, new and old, and is the first brand to do so. If your device has this problem, it will get a new display even if the phone itself is out of warranty."
i hope other brands also does this as well. vivo also does this but only in their X series, not sure about the V series.

Artem S. Tashkinov, 06 Dec 2024OLED is leaps and bounds better in: * Dynamic range *... moreYou should have another asterisk next to power consumption that states "when using dark mode" because OLED displaying lots of white on a screen uses wayyyy more power than IPS for mobile devices.

Should've mentioned Apple among the popular brands, the same company that doesn't even acknowledges the issue.

The Nord 3 design was really appealing to me, but because of the OnePlus greenline issue in India, I currently use a Realme phone.

Perhaps the cause of the problem is the new amoled display type that's thinner then ever, and easily gets damaged under slightest of presure, or temperature, or what ever. It's just so fragile, it's a shame

The Android Freak, 06 Dec 2024What are you using right now? Redmi K50i?no, Redmi Note 10 5G.
