I'm so happy to see compact flagships making a comeback. All that's left is for Sony to bring back the Xperia 5 model.

Modem over telephone voice wire before even dsl was slow, not nectar of pc or programs the wire was the limitation. Your dac could be a limitation.
There are fully digital wireless headphones in the world with zero latency nevers there is no demodulation or conversion of digital to analog music.

Atidy physics then sound then metallergy!
Wired headsets STILL have delay.
There is aBIG reason high end phones worth a specific DAC exist and it is NOT for soubd quality aline yet also afects sound quality.
You wouldnt buy cheap headphones using brass or silver connections in the 3.5mm jack would you?!

6-6.3 inches is the perfect size for a smartphone nowadays. I've been rocking a 6.8 inch screen for the past 5-6 years and going back to a more usable size is such a nice feeling.
That being said, no periscope camera is a deal breaker. I tend ro use the periscope camera more than the "main" camera.

Easy to carry and friendly to my pants pocket. Do you people even understand what's "Mobile" means?? Big ass phone are not so "mobile" as you either need to put it into your ladies bags or other bags. You can't even walk in comfort with big ass phone in your pocket, let alone sitting. People who like big ass phone, just get a tablet or if you still can find one. The first mobile phone that as big as the school lunch box and heavy as brick. Yeah, I'm talking about the Motorola 🙄

Take a look at Unihertz's devices. They're more expensive than the mainstream devices because of their niche-oriented ODM design, all while ripping off ringtones and software from more established brands.
Those who purchase Apple devices have cash at their disposal, regardless of which model they have purchased. And most of those sales are because of their belief that they're a status symbol, that outperforms all other alternatives that mostly do the same thing.

DeepIn2U, 07 Dec 2024Great points.
Im skeptical for having an all-metal body ... moreWireless signals aren't an issue with aluminium unibodies. My phone tends to outperform my friends' phones in terms of reception, while featuring an all-aluminium unibody. It's always the brand's implementation that makes or breaks the reception and all-around experience.
If they need to reduce weight, they'd have to use a polymer resin chassis with a metallic frame and a metal rear panel like the Nord 4. Not the most durable implementation, but it's a balance of both weight savings and production cost savings.

I'm disappointed at most people discouraging to use phones beyond 3 years. If it works well, why should we replace? Ironically those who force others to switch phones, are those poster children for compromises on modern phones.

Anonymous, 07 Dec 2024Why do people want small phones?
Are they tiny people? Some of us just need a PHONE that we can easily use with just one hand.
We don't have a Freudian need to overcompensate with a phone.

"The company is reportedly working on a device that is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, has a 6.3" screen"
Then it's NOT a small phone.
6.3" IS NOT A SMALL SCREEN. It's unusable with one hand. Anything over 5.5" bezelless is oversized and a giant screen.

Who are you to tell me or anyone else for how long I should use my device? Why get a new phone every 3 years if the one I have still works fine and does what I need it to do?
I spent my own money on it, I own it, I will keep and use it for as long as I want, not until some random person tells me i should get a new one

Do Way useless ratios, not relevant for anyone not on the social media and you get quite compact phone very easily.
2:1 (18:9) is should be the maximum.
