If the battery is pumped to 4.35-4.4V, then 80% is VERY ideal.
Else if 100% = 4.2-4.25V, then there's nothing to be afraid of.

Wondering why they keep it as 80%. 80 is too low to be practical. It should be 90 or 95%.

I'm a bit confused. Is the 80 % limit a new feature on Pixels, in 2024?
I've been using it for literally years now on my Xperia 1 III, it's been charged to 100 % once or twice in over three years of use.

I hope Samsung implements this feature in whole OS especially in DEX mode rather than just in game launcher, i really need this option and it can change the way I use my phone

Demonicale, 13 Dec 2024So you're happy paying for a device and not using all ... moreTo prolong the battery lifespan. If you charge to 100%, in 3 years, the actual capacity may be reduced to 80%. On the other hand if you charge to 80%, in 3 years, the actually capacity may be 90%. If you buy a new phone every 3 years, this feature will probably be irrelevant to you. Not everyone buys a new phone every 3 years, though.
