Major major "winner" product.

      Oh this is easy.
Winner: Poco. They know their audience. Maximize performance for the dollar, and that’s it. The rest are simply icing on the cake. It’s understandable they got a cult following.

Loser: everything else. SU7 is so hyped up that people disregard its issues, and you don’t want to be driving that thing. HyoerOS is just a rebranded MiUI. Redmi lineup is overpriced. The Mi series would be alright, except HyperOS.

Now having said all of that, I think Xiaomi do realizes that they need to work on the software if they want to level up their brand. Their continuity feature deserves merit, albeit only between their flagship models. Thing is, I don’t think they are putting enough efforts on it.

The battery issue is further aggravated because Realme UI kills literally everything running in the background to increase the battery life.

Nothing "shady" is happening.. It's just a plethora of bad decisions regarding their essentialy re-skinned and untested OS.

Here's another solid one I can find - iQOO Z9x.

Only 154 EUR, but the specs are well above average for what you're paying for, especially the SD 6 Gen 1 chip and 6000mAh battery. The only minus is the IPS display, but I know some people out there prefer IPS over OLED.

This is the best one I can find in my country - Realme 13+

It costs about 272 EUR here, and it has comparable specs to the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G, but the Realme comes with a flat display, faster UFS 3.1 storage, faster 80W charging, 3.5mm jack, and card slot. Not a bad all-rounder choice for the price, what do you think?

Like the same way some carriers in the US still offer brand new iPhone 12s, Xiaomi could still sell the Mi 11 as a budget phone. The problem would be making sure the parts in these older phones are still available though

                    > And our last complaint is about battery life. Judging by our tests, Xiaomi's phones have struggled to deliver competitive battery life across its entire range of phones, so it's easy to conclude that HyperOS is the main culprit.

I wonder if battery life issue solved by flashing cusrom, atleast aosp rom. I like the lenovo approach tho, let the user boot into OEM rom or aosp rom.

Xiaomi phones should remove pro, pro plus model phones except flagship cuz it's pointless like we could just buy a year old models example Poco f1, f2, f3....f10, etc no pro models and Redmi note 1, 2...15 no pro and pro plus models. Iphone is simple if people couldn't afford iphone 16 they just go for 15 or 14, etc for lower price

Some of them are gimped either in the chipset or lacking 3.5mm jack/microSD slot, which wasn't an issue not so long ago. Best thing you can do is use the search function and filter phones depending on your needs.

I couldn't agree more about the HyperOS!!!!! I have the 14T for work and I need to put it on battery saver mode forever since the battery won't last a day. It's shady. I think there's something running in the background to collect your data even if you restrict all access/permissions to apps -- and it's affecting the battery life. The double tap is missing too. I was so excited with the 14T because of the lemon green variant, but now, I don't know.. this will be my last Xiaomi phone. I'm glad I have my 16ProMax. Xiaomi, you can do better!

Did you just suggest that a lack of AI features baked into an OS is a bad thing?

You're out of touch with how people feel about AI. Most people either don't care, or don't like it. And it's not an issue of resistance against a new technology, it's apathy from the bombardment of AI as a marketing word. As someone who has deeply explored what generative AI can do, I'm impressed, but I don't want it baked into my OS. I want it as stand alone apps.

I agree to POCO losers argument. C,M,M Pro, X is full of crab. Why they just make X Pro/F but cheaper?

SU7? Have you seen the brake failure on track video?

I was sure Pocos weren't bought by their users for the camera. Though it's just annoying the Redmi Note series exists with slightly better cams and weaker chipsets.

                                  Why not combine both?
