DarlingYext, 12 hours agoThin and light weight = cheap feelingOnly in your opinion which is not based on facts but on social construct. Meanwhile, a lighter device will factually put less strain on the wrist (especially when one handed, like I use my device right now because I’m eating pizza with the other), and so will be more comfortable and ergonomic, maybe even reduce the risk of degradation and injury long term.

Watch it be 6.9mm.
If I was like Cpt.Power and assigned technological advancement levels to physical properties, like when he says 5000 mAh is outdated, then I‘d say 6.x mm is outdated because it was already standard in 2015, and we should reach 5.x mm now.

Sounds promising. Anyone remembers the Ultra edition? I don't mean Galaxy S Ultra line, I mean the ultra thin edition, I had the U600 slider, it was such a head turner :D

No point if it's a thin device but chooses to skimp on specs

Being first or second is irrelevant, because most iPhone are using Samsung display, so win-win for Apple and Samsung.

Anonymous, 14 hours agoPeople don't want small compact phones. Only a loud mi... moreA lot more people want smaller, more compact smartphones, however those people aren't the super tech savvy people who need the greatest features, so they don't tend to upgrade when one comes out. The other main reason for the poor sales of compact phones is that they just flat out suck because manufacturers don't put enough effort into them, since it costs more in R&D to stuff decent guts into such a small body. It didn't matter which manufacturer you went to, their compact devices always had compromises. Less features, worse cameras, battery, performance, thermals, display, etc. Fixing any of these issues means to either drive up the price like crazy (which consumers wont like, since to them it looks like they're paying more for less), or to make the phone bigger, completely negating the reason for the device's existence

Before focusing on making a device thinner than it needs to be, how about focusing on the actual issues with galaxy devices? Slow updates, slow charging, inferior processing power compared to other devices (despite having the same chipset AND having it overclocked??), heaps of bloatware, not enough base storage for the prices they're charging, and losing more and more features year over year while also copying so much apple, despite supposedly still being a key innovator in the smartphone market?? not to mention that their in house chips just flat out suck. I'm still trying to figure out how their market share isn't dwindling with all this

If anyone here has held a thin tablet then you know how uncomfortable and inconvenient they are. If the sides are flat, good luck picking it up comfortably. And when you do manage to pick it up, using it for multiple hours will suck
