i think the current non stated rule is that a new - really new - device will come every fourth year , aside from that they just rebrand the same midrange device every year with minimalistic differences that makes no real improvement especially with : processors , cameras , and overall features. that goes for the A series quite obviously.

what is the screen size? is it still 6.6? it should be 6.7 man

From A51 it got dual traffic lights on back.
Since A51 it was 4GB ram from A52s it was 6GB ram minimum.
        From A55 its 8GB ram.
        Still its useless.
Litterary no improvement from A52s apart not giving chargers but asking same price.
        No thanks.

For almost 500 pounds you can get flagship phone of yesteryear. Who buys this crap?

Since A52 no significant upgrades apart from 4GB ram on A51 to 6GB on A52 and 8GB ram on A55 and now 45W charging speeds. Othervise same Samsung A5X series as many years before. Boring.
Samsung lost credit and they fuel with their advertising dying product. I mean sales are still hige success but people getting a lot bored by having same each year.

So Samsung peak ended with A52s it seems in the affordable tier range... The rest are either downgrades/sidegrades at best. Whelp, I'm still sticking to my OP 8T then. Had my eyes locked on S23/24 (cos Exynos is horrendous in every way).

Do we know if the A56 is going to be lighter than A55? I heard a rumer it will 7.4 in thickness, not the usual 8.1

Felix, 01 Jan 2025I agree. Moving back to Samsung. It's incredible how... moreYup. And that’s the reality of the market. Despite Xiaomi’s “popularity” on the internet, consumers realize that the user experience sucks. Those who can afford Samsung will get a Samsung, and they still sell more phones than Xiaomi. Usually people simping on Xiaomi are kids who are only after spec on paper for cheap to play their latest gacha games.

Is there any information on whether the 12 GB RAM version will be available in the EU or limited to certain regions like India, as was the case with the A55?

Anonymous, 01 Jan 2025Yep, Xiaomi is great. On PAPER. When you start using it, we... moreUhm... What did you have in mind when starting to use Xiaomi devices? I didn't find anything weird from the two devices I have used. If we talk about service period (a.k.a. software update), then I agree that Samsung provide longer services. But usage-wise, I don't see any problem.

On the contrary, I've seen more Samsung devices with green vertical line(s) than Xiaomi ones. Sure, Samsung sold more devices here in my country, but the difference is only 3% against Xiaomi.

Moving back to Samsung. It's incredible how fast you forget the price you paid for a phone. Crappy user experience nullifies any savings you'd have made on a cheaper phone

A crap eyynos chip and a virtual proximity sensor for $500 in a world where we can get:
                                      Snapdragon 8 gen 3
                                      Telephoto sensor

Silicon carbon batteries (heck even the poco x7 pro will have this tech even though it will be much cheaper)
1.5k, 12 bit, dolby vision enabled displays with >4000 nits of peak brightness, etc
