At this price segment, spec on paper can only go so far. User experience is key, and that’s why in the premium segment, Apple and Samsung own the market. These Chinese OEMs think they can enter premium segment simply by selling a more expensive hardware. They don’t realize that the key is in software.

          Does this matter? Everytime Xiaomi announced their phone, they brag about their camera features. But in real life, it’s still meh and nobody buys Xiaomi for the camera. It’s just funny.

            How is it any different then Apple ? Even when new model of iPhone isn't even out they already talk about next model or 2 next models more then they talk about the one that will be just released. And now when that is done by some Chinese brand it is somehow surprising to you

                I recently had a xiaomi 14 as an attempt to upgrade from my s23, but the xiaomi OS is really really bad.
                Like, if you search for an app from the app drawer, if you want to go to the home screen from the app, you need to do the swipe up gesture THREE TIMES: first time it sends you back to the search screen of the app drawer, second time it sends you to the app drawer and third time it finally sends you to the main screen. That does not make any sense!
                Also, it had ads in the OS and in the system apps! On a flagship phone, with a price to match!
                Xiaomi can put whatever hardware they want, but the OS is so bad that it won't matter. My old s23 felt faster than the xiaomi 14 which should have better specs.
