Anonymous, 04 Jan 2025My F3 is nearing 4 years old and is still going strong apar... moreF3 is still good. Switch to Poco F8 once Qualcomm brings it's custom cores to 8s elite/ 7+ series.

Ben Dover, 04 Jan 2025Poco F5 still going strong. Worth the upgrade? Not worth the upgrade. Stick with F5 for few more years without updating it Ofcourse for obvious reasons.

Koishi Komeiji, 04 Jan 2025make 7 years OS upgrade for POCO = the motherboard is dead ... morePoco has fixed this issue years ago. Why bring it up in 2025?

SShock, 04 Jan 2025I personally absolutely would. But lets be realistic, they ... moreSoftware development is not cheap. And considering each current Android updates are not that significant anyway, imo around 2 to 3 years of OS updates in this price range is perfectly acceptable imo. And it’s not like having 2 or 3 version of Android behind is detrimental. Even Android 6 is still supported by developers.

you have to suffer, 04 Jan 2025would you rather buy phones with 7 years of update but no I... moreGood point, but in other persons situation they rather get a good hardware and durability and open bootloader phone like this poco, after the official support surely it would get custom rom support.

I know someone still using samsung note 8 using custom rom android 14,still refusing to buy a new one.

Koishi Komeiji, 04 Jan 2025make 7 years OS upgrade for POCO = the motherboard is dead ... moreMy F3 is nearing 4 years old and is still going strong apart from its reduced battery capacity. In my case, I trust own experience over mere conjectures but I do acknowledge that earlier X models like the X3 and X4 have motherboard issues. For me, its either X7 Pro or F7 to replace my F3.

IP69? Nice. Easier to recommend now. This is great, with all the Chinese mid rangers finally adopting IP68/69. More options outside of Samsung.

So, where's the diving camera specs? Zero information on how deep it is proved to be waterproof? iPhone is stated to be resistant down to 5 meters.

PanRT, 04 Jan 20254+5 is great, no need 7 year, 7y is gimmick.Nah, 7 upgrades is really good when you're buying old phones. OS updates are a big reasons why Apple manages so sell their previous models. Same thing is seen with Google, plenty opt for the last gen maxed out version in the same price as new one's standard. Until few years ago, you'd rarely see someone buying android phones launched 2-3 years ago, but now with more updates, you see many of them

Anonymous, 04 Jan 2025No 7 OS upgrades = no buy.7 OS updates on phones with mid-range chipset is not a good thing.

on high-end chipsets? sure thing 👍

Anonymous, 04 Jan 2025No 7 OS upgrades = no buy.would you rather buy phones with 7 years of update but no IP rating, or even bare minimum an IP54. i'd rather have less updates like 4 years max but with IP69 rated. i wouldn't like to have a screen that has its own mind when it reacts to water. also no one would use the same phone in 7 years.
