Hart932, 09 Jan 2025You must know what to look out for in the 1" sensor. T... moreHow many bokeh shots do you take in reality? The difference is not night and day and are barely noticeable. Plus, with the X100 Ultra as far as camera-phones goes, the time it takes to process the final image is too slow which is annoying at least in my case.

What I'm interested is the difference in image quality given the sensors are identical to X200 Pro. CPU aside, difference in image processing algorithm alone is hardly justifiable for the price difference.

Thank you Vivo. Value for money-wise the X200 Pro will be better than the X200 Ultra. SoC-wise the difference is negligible and the X200 Pro has a better GPU which evens out the slight gap in CPU performance. The X300 series will even be greater.

Just take a look at ben's gadget reviees in YT and see how minimal the difference is when it comes to the output of the main sensor between the X200 Pro and X100 Ultra.

Both OM System OM-1 and Canon R5 II/R1 allow users to use in-camera AI noise reduction (On top of this, the Canon cameras also come with AI super-resolution upscaling as well, which works pretty well as long as images are not too noisy). Most cameras just didn't have enough processing power to run these kinds of algorithms to begin with before, but now a few of them do which is a good thing.
"Dual layer can indeed increase 100% light intake"
Sony said double the *saturation signal level* - So in these new sensors, each pixel is less likely to get oversaturated now compared to conventional sensors at the same ISO & SS, but this doesn't mean the actual *amount of light intake* has suddenly doubled.
"But vivo is one of many that do not pay extra for this"
X200 Pro's LYT-818 is the first mobile image sensor that officially comes with a triple conversion gain design, and sensors with new tech are usually pretty expensive compared to the rest. If X200 Ultra could pair this sensor with an F1.4-1.6 lens, it would indeed achieve a higher amount of light intake per field of view compared to X100 Ultra.

Same sensor size as x200 pro and probably the same periscope too. Design, battery size, chipset etc. also similar or the same. If there isn't a proper camera upgrade or the other stuff, why exactly they are bothering to make an ultra phone?

So just the X200 Pro with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, a higher-res screen and an extra 10W of charging power? Last year's X100 Ultra was something special but us non-Chinese citizens aren't missing out on anything this time around.

I am happy with the smaller sensor size, 35mm is ideal.
It would be the perfect phone if it had variable aperture.
1" sensors are nice but until they can make them at 35mm I'm not bothered.
Hopefully it is a new T type sensor like the LYT-T808.
It'll probably be a LYT-818 though, havent heard of LYT-T818 existing but one can hope.

So it's final. X100 ultra is the last flagship with beautiful curve edges and 1" type censor.
accidental touches issues is for kids who play games.
all are saving cost sacrificing key features. mobile phones soon will look boring.

Going from 1" to 1/1,3" is a very big downgrade. We need more 1" sensor on phones, and not the other way around!
