Their mobile division had been in red for so long that they had to withdraw from so many markets. Sony probably makes more money selling camera modules to OEMs like Apple than selling their own phones.
      As great Sony is in hardware, they are still being led by outdated Japanese management.

      I used to be a huge Samsung fan. Even today i like vanilla galaxy s phones.

      But looking at Chinese phones, i know Samsung can do so much better, but instead they withhold the best from customers until they milk the shi t out of them.

      Like if the galaxy 25 had xiaomi 15 cameras and big S/C battery, i wouldn't even look at the xiaomi

Because they have billions of dollars, they probably don't even care that Xperia 1 VI is not selling great besides being the best flagship. Sony just have too much money, so they definitely won't stop producing Xperia's :)

Pretty much voted with my wallet. I feel what's sad is that we have the technology to make phone cases that return those beloved features like microSD card slot, headphone jack, flipping the bottom speaker forward, and IR blaster but nobody wants to do it; even for the easier Android.

        I can only hope the Xperia series offers most bands despite not selling in the US and whatnot. None of the other brands are going to listen to folks like us who remember the 00s; when phones could literally do everything simple.

If I love using my Xperia 1 II even when I had to change the battery despite its 60Hz due to Qualcomm's limitations, but able to hold 5 years later on, then I rather use that than used a brand new phone that offers everything except the things I required and prefer. It's like saying to someone who loves their Mercedes-AMG SL65 Black Series or Porsche 911 should get a Xiaomi SU7 Ultra to replace it because it's so much better than the SL65 BS or Porsche 911 to a person who only purchases a V12-engine or F6-engine powered cars until dying breed. That won't work at all. Even if they need to eventually replace it, they will find the nearest replacement that is not electric that's for sure. Even if I had to retire my Xperia 1 II soon, I will still continue find another Xperia flagship to replace it that has a complete package. I voted with my wallet, so get off. Sorry not sorry, you are borderlined disrespected my choice regardless what you think is "the best" for someone. If someone valued something over something because situational and you decided to interfere, the remarks you made just felt unwelcome.

Most people don't care about the camera difference between ultra and whatever phone has an even better camera..since ultra cameras are great all round and no phone has the best of all cameras ..selfie , main , uw, telephoto , photo , video ..different phones excel in different cameras ..samsung excels as an all alround device .

In the analogy automotive enthusiast world, do you blame those who wanted a pure naturally aspirated V12 engine in the time where battery powered cars is everywhere and threatened the V12 engine existence and their options dwindled just to few manufacturers like Ferrari and Lamborghini? This is how I feel when my requirements I need is just limited to 1 company.
