~aaannnddd we're done here if that pans out. Don't even start about the rest of the core specs I dgaf how fast the "A" SoC gonna be because THIS is just beyond ridiculous atp in ffs it's 2025 already. I can't understand how/why would any sane iFans defend it for w/e excuse? Don't give me that "price point" BS as we all know Apple will keep Appling. The "E" by RRP is surely as per usual are gonna be way off and higher than yes competing droids w/ by now AT LEAST a 90Hz screen?

This phone is targeted to be that free phone under contract for western markets (or subsidized cheap phone for prepaid carriers), just like all the iPhone SE before it.

If the new iPhone SE i... moreIt makes complete sense. Pretty much all iPhone SE used the latest flagship SoC at the time of their announcement. Original SE used A9 + 2GB RAM from the 6s, despite the existence of the iPhone 6 with A8 + 1GB RAM at higher price. This is nothing new for Apple. It's called economies of scale.
And yeah, it feels like it's just an iPhone 16 with 1 camera. Except that it's not. It will have a notch instead of dynamic island, it won't have camera control button, and it will actually use inferior panel from BoE (vs Samsung on the regular 16). Apple is not stupid. They know how to segment their product lines.

So called 16E will not have the notch on display. It will look like iPhone 14, so pillow shape punch hole like the rest of iPhones today.
Also, the info about A18 chipset in iPhone 16E is just wrong.
It will have A17 Pro with 8GB RAM inside, not the A18 as mentioned in the article.

These rumors don't make sense.
If the new iPhone SE is supposed to have an A18 chip and a 6.1-inch display with 8GB of RAM, it would basically be the same as the iPhone 16, but with just one camera!
And if it's going to come with these specs but an older processor, it still wouldn't make sense to buy it over something like the iPhone 14 or even the iPhone 13, which are cheaper.
Given Apple's strategies over the years, the new iPhone SE will probably have a similar size and specs to the iPhone 13 mini with a 5.4-inch screen, the new A18 chip, and likely less than 8GB of RAM.
That would make more sense for buying and competing.

It will be enough to impress your friends or the girls and if someone doesn't think it's enough just say that you prefer small iPhones instead of big ones like the Pro Max.

If this rumours are true, this is just iphone 16 with single camera and older notch also with big bezzles around the screen. I don't see a point of this iphone release other than 200$ cheaper price tag.

Apple was 'supposed' to drop home button for the two past SE releases. I'm curious if they the rumors turnout to be true this time but I still doubt it.
