This is a great example of less is more. Like it’ll have camera and who knows what other downgrades in order to be thin, but it’ll cost more! At least more than the coming iPhone SE or is it 17E?
Also, “the iPhone 17 Air, at its thinnest point, will be just 5.5mm thick.”
What thinnest point. There’s the camera bump and what else? Will the phone have a curved shape? Haven’t checked earlier rumours concerning it.

"..the iPhone 17 Air, at its thinnest point, will be just 5.5mm thick. That is incredible."
That sounds incredibly durable.

This type of smartphone *feels* enticing, for now, at least. Getting some fresh air in the otherwise really boring smartphone market.
But I don't think that I would settle for an iPhone 17 Air, just because it will have a single rear camera, even though it will be quite a bit thinner than the Samsung's slim model. I would rather settle for a functional device, which is thinner than the rest, but not *the* thinnest. Furthermore, this iPhone makes me a bit nervous. Remember the 6 Plus?

NeonHD, 11 Jan 2025I'm not opposed to eSIM, but I still don't think ... moreAll big carriers and subsidiaries (public mobile, koodo or freedom mobile) offer esim. Just at a specific cost or free for a new activation. So availability is widespread.

I am not even shocked by the relentless fake hype for this. It is a full mm thicker than the thinnest smartphone ever made. That phone was made over a decade ago.
This only proves these main gadget blogs are scripted by manufacturers.

Narazumono, 11 Jan 2025There's a reason why the plus is the worst selling No... moreI agree, however, the Plus has something going for it, and that's battery life. Almost every review outlet out there lists the Plus as being top notch on this category. I mean, it makes sense - less power hungry SoC, display, and a battery that is as big as in Pro Max models.

I'm not opposed to eSIM, but I still don't think eSIM is widespread. I'm in Canada and have never seen any carriers promote the fact that they offer eSIM. Maybe they do, they probably do, but I've never seen it being advertised.

There's a reason why the plus is the worst selling
Nobody wants to pay $1200 for 60 hz, thick bezels and last year's chip
Atleast the base variant has the size going for it as well as being the cheapest which is always a popular choice for the average consumer but the plus has nothing
Anyone willing to spend more goes for either the pro or the pro max
The Air will turn out the same and there probably won't be an iPhone 18 Air if Apple thinks being a few mm thinner is revolutionary or whatever

Where is the "No 7 OS Updates = No Buy" guy around? Why is he not on Apple/iOS topics and just screws around other topics? Can't buy this one, huh?
