Anonymous, 16 Jan 2025all brands sell overpriced phones in Europe, did you just know? Not really. Many Motorola's (4th in Europe) phones quickly get price cuts in major EU markets. You never buy their phone at full release price, just wait few months.

xcv, 15 Jan 2025Ah, yes, sanctions, that's why you can buy any Chinese... moreYou must be ignoring those 600 Chinese companies on the US Entity List and the US banning of Apple and Samsung's biggest competitor, Huawei, who had a contract to stock their phones with US carriers. The US tried to ban Xiaomi and is about to ban TikTok, the highest earning app in the US, and DJI, the best drone maker in the world.
Sure, OnePlus operates in the US, but it's a small brand and never a threat to Apple or Samsung in the US. Quite telling that all the biggest Chinese brands, Huawei, Vivo, Oppo and Xiaomi are absent from the US market where they can decimate Apple and Samsung sales there. They're not entering the US market because of the threat of sanctions or they're already under sanctions i.e. Huawei.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2025you don't understand, Xiaomi is not chasing this high ... moreIt depends on the brand and region. Xiaomi does chase a high selling price with its flagship phones in Europe. They are basically priced the same as flagships from other brands. It's basically the Poco brand that doesn't chase a high selling price.

Bu... moreI am not even part of the market who get flagship phones. I am budget mostly and sometimes middle class.
Also the people who buy flagships mostly change their phone every after few years so hat is the point even on the long term updates ? 2-3 OS updates is enough for these people. as they dont hold on one phone more then 3 years.
I am not a fan of anything or i dont even understand the concept of a fan.

Just because Android as an OS is majority, it's not a single entity / company.
Apple takes over 80% of smartphone market profit, year after year for over a decade, and that is only relevant. And as a bonus second year in a row, they sell the most.
Plus apps on iOS earn way more.

Here is the revolutionary tought - they're trying and failling year after year. Nobody who's into premium smartphones is buying overpriced iOS copycats. The vast majority of their sales are bottom of the barrel POCO and Redmi models. It's harsh reality.

Oh look, OnePlus is also selling in USA because Oppo is paying fees... Nobody is stopping other Chinese OEMs to sell. Do you think that Samsung Electronics don't pay? Guess why theeir software on US carrier models in full of bloatware.
Only Apple can get away without carrier software bloat, and even Apple had to bend to Qualcomm.
But keep writing BS.
TL; DR
Qualcomm never lost a lawsuit, even Apple lost to them but somehow it's not fair that Chinese OEMs have to pay to enter US market. Amazing logic...

Buying a phone with short software support and mediocre UI, even the new features comes from native feature of Android OS by Google itself..
I am not even mentioning the fact, that many innovative hardware wise on chinese phone are actually from parts made by 3rd party like Samsung, Qualcomm, Sony, etc.
