Fri Plstyn, 15 Jan 2025Nokia tried the same thing back in X7 and PureView days, an... moreNokia flopped not only because of IOS but also because US telcos didn't subsidized their products.
Too bad they couldn't pull off the same thing with China lol.

Might as well start advertising phone cases with built-in battery banks

I have no problem with battery, with 4000 maH battery S25 Slim probably has 1 hour less SoT than S25 Plus.

I only have problem with the phone slimness, this phone is not as thin as i expected.

I believe 4000 maH battery on Samsung S24 Slim has quite similar Screen On Time as regular chinese flagship with 5000-6000maH batery.

Just imagine Apple and Samsung opting for this new battery density and with their software optimisation their phones would run for days.

5 hour screen on time otw (no gaming)

This is not surprising for the iPhone. Even the 16 Pro Max has less than 5000mAh battery.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2025By the logic of this article, 7500mAh should make me laugh ... more5000mah is the norm in Android world for a while now, so

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2025I still don't know who wants these phones. People want... moreModern flagships are big, heavy and unergonomic, especially once you put a case on them. My S23U feels like a lethal weapon with a case on it and one hand operation quickly makes either of my hands tired. I'm all for a slimmer phone if that makes it lighter and more ergonomic but we all know Samsung is going to sacrifice battery capacity to achieve that because they aren't using Si/C batteries.

If Apple does release the 17 Air, I guarantee we'll see some Chinese OEMs follow suit and make their own slim phones, except they'll buck the slim phone=small battery trend and have relatively large battery capacities compared to the Air and Slim because they've all adopted Si/C batteries.

Heh, looks like they aren't using Si-Ca after all.

DarlingYext, 15 Jan 2025Except no, because 7500mAh can easily last 2 days, but 2000... moreIt IS enough for a day the first year or two (depending on how you use it), afterwards, you'll be carrying a battery bank or a charger with you for sure.

                          Why?
                          Who asked for thinner phones?
If anything, more options for slightly smaller phone of 6-6.4" would be nice. But slimmer at the price of battery when current phones barely make it through the day with heavy use is just...not practical, useful or needed in any way.

With a reduced battery size, I think most people would prefer either the S25 Ultra or the S25+. The iPhone will probably have a better battery management. I think the smaller battery and the presumably worse endurance is for many a deal breaker.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2025By the logic of this article, 7500mAh should make me laugh ... moreExcept no, because 7500mAh can easily last 2 days, but 20000mAh is just unnecessary, wheras 3000-4000mAh is barely enough for a day, if it's even enough.

By the logic of this article, 7500mAh should make me laugh too when phones with over 20000mAh exist.

Thin phone is smaller battery, nothing weird there and one of many reasons I don't see any point in even thinner devices, when looking at how many phones are already pretty thin.

I rather see a 9mm phone without a camera bump, because specs, especially with chinese brands omit the thickness at the large camera islands.

Iphone gonna score at least 13:50h.
Samsung , surely as poor as xiaomi phones. Barely above 11.

Didnt the Us recently put CATL on the banned list or they are planning to

I'm grasping at straws but maybe that's a reason why apple and Samsung hate si-c technology?

I believe most of the new batteries are in partnership with CATL

What makes this worse is less surface area is gonna mean more HEAT that also means one other battery draining issue

BUT there is hope .. hear me out guys

What IF they are making these slim versions to bring back removable batteries

How much money are you guys putting on the line

I'm betting $2000 USD and I'm going to also bet after January there will be no more 8mp ultra wide sensors

                                        Who is with me!!??!!!!!!
