iPhone 17 Air and Galaxy S25 Slim rumored battery capacities will make you laugh

Slimness definitely takes a toll.

Those 'slim' versions are an answer to a question no one asked! I never meet someone who says I wish my phone were slimmer, nor do I ever think that myself. If they made it more compact (i.e. sub 6" screen) it would've made much more sense since there are still people out there who prefer compact phone, so I expect this to flop both for Samsung and Apple (even more than the mini versions did for the latter).

I expect both the Air and Slim to flop
Question is who will be the bigger flop

I hate the phonemarket. 0 news. Wake me up in 10 years. Thankfully updates last 7 years.

I like "thinner" phones with large screens. Everyone wants big batteries for longer times between charging. I have a BIG heavy phone right now - Pixel 9 Pro XL. Works great! But it is a brick in my pocket. So for "ME" a slimmer, more pocket friendly phone would be nice! I do not need 15 cameras on the back. One or two is plenty for me! Samsung can make this work by using the new Silicon battery tech! If they don't they will be cutting their own throat! Time will tell!

If the screen would be 6.1" wouldn't be too bad. But now it is funny. Still, we should wait for legit info.

            Don't think this is laughable.
Personally I'm concerned that Apple and Samsung are trying to arm-twist the market trends back into illogical things like concerningly thin phones with obviously weaker internals like cooling, battery, camera sensor (multiple sensors for those who care), speakers, etc.

Sounds farfetched but the timing is weird when everyone os turning to huge batteries, massive cameras, good speakers and no marketing towards thickness, two of the largest phone makers brewed up the same idea.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2025Sounds like a mild case of psychosis to me, you should get ... moreYour favorite brand lacks innovation.

Maybe they should ask the Chinese on what to improve to make it better.

China, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Middle East are generally warmer than US and Europe so nightlife is more active all year round. For this, Chinese phone makers have to design phones that will last the whole evening and not just 6 PM

The title alone made me laugh.

Yes and put there first version of android froyo or so then it will have endurance of several weeks.

The iPhone Air isn’t too bad since the battery capacity is about the same as the vanilla iPhone 16, but it’s a shame that it’ll be replacing the plus model, which a lot of people bought because of it’s incredibly good battery life.

The Samsung though, yikes. It’s gonna have a smaller battery than the S24 while powering better hardware. And it’s also running One UI, which is more optimized than some other skins like HyperOS, but it’s still not great.

At least companies are making something other than ai now, I really hate how normalized generative ai, especially ai “art”, is becoming.

I hope this doesn't become a trend ,we were loving the new battery tech and it's capacity trend, not this.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2025I still don't know who wants these phones. People want... moreWhy do they even still make phones that are smaller and thinner and lighter than a Steam Deck? I just don’t understand why anyone would want a phone to be portable 😔

Apple and samsung user dont care about battery...5000 mah is too much for them..so refuce to 4000 or less...

So they will likely be unusable and fragile fashion devices. These rumors could all be false too, but I wouldn't be surprised to see ultra small batteries from either of these two brands.

if apple does it i think phones with one camera era would return again lol

David 040882, 15 Jan 2025They could use silicon carbon tech and that would push the ... moreThey won't use Si/C, because it's clearly a better solution, but all the Chinese brands are already using it, so they are trying to look like the only good guys by not using it.

To be honest i expect all iphones in general to come with small batteries but smasnug?

I only care about the small form factor phone. Not an ultra-thin device. That people will barely care about today.
