Samsung will use,rename it for some fake marketing AI, fake core count in system, call it innovation and charge extra 200 euros for it in europe.

    Hopefully, this SoC has a different name than SD 8 Elite because no matter what, OEM's will market their device as SD 8 elite and charge top dollars. The savings from QC will go into corporate pockets not customer's. And the customer's even though negligible performance/efficiency difference will feel cheated/confused on why different device's perform differently with the same SoC branding. Off topic: Why QC is so hell bent with their naming schemes? I've lost count now and always confused with 8s, 8+ etc. crap🤦

      Anyone with brain would not dismiss it, as most CPU's today lose half of power after 5min of usage, so not having one core would probably mean better real life performance due to less heat.
      If they would keep the price low, it would be nice chip, but knowing Qualcomm, they try to sell it as any other 8 elite, so no one will use it...

          make/offer a Raspberry Pi (6) with it and min. 8 GB RAM for $60 and i would get 10 pieces

              To dismiss it as lesser would depend entirely on the price difference this 7 core version offers to OEMs and whether they choose to hand over those savings to the customer or not.

                  They dont exactly explain the one missing performance core or the effect of it

                    Snapdragon 8 core Configuration is vice versa of Arm one, Phoenix L is more efficient than Phoenix M at any power level , so reducing Phoenix M core difference will be close to zero.
