What's with this noise. You could easily download more ram on a website if you need one.
In all seriousness, this first batch of S25 series is going with Micron if I recall it correctly. Not sure how expensive their memory chips are, though.

Foxtrot2Novmbr, 23 Jan 2025Do you know that android eats a lot of memory? From my S23 ... moreYou don't own an s23u ultra. If you did you would know that for a 12gb ram version the system only eats out 4gb of storage, except you mean 8gb ram.

Foxtrot2Novmbr, 23 Jan 2025Do you know that android eats a lot of memory? From my S23 ... morehaving less RAM is not not something to defend(when they are asking 1400$), but comparing availible RAM is not a good way to check how smooth it is. for example you can check that oneplus phones with more ram, have almost the same free space there as the ones with lower ram version. If games dont run smoothly on s23u, it is due to samsung limitation of the whole hardware.(they are not really the best choice when it comes to gaming)

Bobi7x7 , 23 Jan 2025And whats the point to 24GB if your Phone use only 6GB atm ... moreDo you know that android eats a lot of memory? From my S23 Ultra. No background apps running. From 12GB RAM. I only have 5.3GB of usable memory. And If I play intense games like Cod Mobile. It will result in low FPS. Those 6.7GB RAM that I have not mentioned are used by the system. So 24GB RAM is mostly recommended.

Bobi7x7 , 23 Jan 2025+ you can always take 8GB storage in settings and add it to... moreVirtual =/= Real
virtual is far slower, 10 time slower than real one. Is only useful for apps like Whatsapp or Messenger.

I highly doubt 4 more gigs of ram would make any difference, even in the most demanding scenarios

sdkk, 23 Jan 2025You don't need it at the moment, but do you know in 1-... moreGraph consumer use/needs alongside hardware improvements, over time. Anything can happen; I feel pretty safe betting that most people will be doing the same web browsing, GPS, emailing/texting, streaming, social media, etc. in 2030. I just checked, & I'm using 8gb - 2gb is in not recently used apps. Another 1gb in apps that should've been off. So about 5gb.
I'm not concerned about RAM; but after 5 years from the 12gb N10, the flagship should probably come with 16gb. Maybe part of that is the stagnation or corruption in chip manufacturing

Anonymous, 23 Jan 2025Why only in certain regions that's kinda pointlessSamsung (and back in the day LG to an even greater extent) always gatekeeped features by region. Not only were storage/memory SKUs frequently region-exclusive, but usually only the Asian models would get dual-SIM support, this being before the days of eSIM. As I mentioned, LG took this a step further, locking wireless charging to be a US-exclusive feature. And it course, Samsung still blocks the US models from bootloader unlocking, even if you've bought a carrier unlocked device in full.

These different versions for different countries are just annoying. Vivo X200 Pro global will come with only 5200 mAh battery, similar like Honor Magic 7 Pro. Why can't they do everything the same, for all regions same setup.

But they've also had faster wired and wireless charging for about the same amount of time, and "Samsung still outsells them" globally. So maybe specs don't make a huge difference in most people's purchasing decisions?
