with ai enhancement you should don't required a high-end or even a mid-range gpu when most of the task done by ai which works efficient on low-end hardware.

soon, a 4 gb card can play a 1440p 30fps games on high preset with ai processing.
also, ai will help you complete your in-game missions.

I don't need this overkill GPU.. it's price, TDP and many PC games are not optimized make it not worth it.. I'm fine with a 6-8GB VRAM card like 3050, A380 or 6600. Even though I'm using now it's 4GB.

Cpt.Power, 31 Jan 2025Paying 2000 for graphic card is massive. Bzut remember go... moreI love Donkey King

              🦧

Now here's my Electronics Engineer talking within me.

The MASSIVE problem for Blackwell is the MASSIVE die size of the GB202 silicon, at 750mm2.

On a 300mm diameter wafer, which is the biggest you can get from all three major foundries (IFS, Samsung, TSMC), once you cut the extremities, you can fit at most 70 to 75 GB202s. Once you factor in the defects which are FIXED, NVIDIA can get at best maybe 30 healthy GB202s, with the rest having to be stripped away into smaller chips, like the GB203 die for the 5080 and 5070 Ti, or GB204 for the 5070. That ain't funny especially since each process node has increased in price linearly over the past 10+ years, with TSMC's N4P and N3 being ludicrously expensive.

And remember that the 30 healthy GB202 chips then have to be split between Consumer (RTX 5090) and Enterprise (presumably the RTX 6000 Blackwell Generation, plus the compute modules for the AI & Datacenter stuff).

And NO, MCM (or Chiplets) aren't a good fit for Gaming, as it will have the same issues as SLI and Crossfire in terms of scaling, compared to AI where it scales simultaneously across all dies and cards.

5090 had like no stock, probably had about as much as review units they sent out.

Everything is on purpose and going as planned. Of course, "limit the supply" by Nvidia to dictate the exorbitant price tag that you want. That's basic econ.

The 5080 is a 5070 in disguise and the 5090 is uh, just AI gimmick with no actual raw performance. Now that Deepseek has been released and it is more efficient than other AI models, there is no reason to buy the 5090 for either gaming or running AI.

You release a small number of pieces, withdraw previous models from production and stupidly boast about your sales.

Well the good news about it is that soon the market be flooded with second hand 40 series so there is a chance to get them cheaper. As the bit coin miners upgrade the cards to 50 series.

Think of all the farms out there where mini farm is already like 100 cards

Paying 2000 for graphic card is massive.
Bzut remember good old times playing blood game on pentium 165 mmx with banshee graphic card for 500 at that time. That was 1996 year i thing.
Nostalgia is best. New games have its magic but playing donkey king at 256 colours or very first edition of mario brothers or wolfenstein 3D or first ever Duna thats something else.
Old old commodore and attari games like giana ssters, infiltrator, ikari warriors, bruce lee, decathlon etc.

Well you get a nvidia gpu when you buy a laptop. So that process is automated unless you upgrade your desktop computer.

sure, lets produce 10 thousands of both 5090/80 and release them worldwide...

sdkr, 31 Jan 2025I don't think I've ever known a more evil company... moreNot only CUDA but also the fact that NVIDIA probably spends more on partnering with companies than AMD does on their own GPUs lol cus NVIDIA always has the best features and they're always available or at least their availability trumps AMD's one easily.

The release stocks are laughable and everyone scalping RTX 5090's for $5000 are just pure evil and everyone paying that much just to get one are just the most gullible people. You DON'T need a new graphic card that much.
