vivo dominates Chinese smartphone market, Huawei rises while Apple falls

07 February 2025
At this rate Huawei will overtake Apple this quarter.

This is not surprising at all. Vivo had a winner with the X100 series followed by the X200 that's even better than the Pura series released by Huawei. They had limited global release but Huawei has forgotten to give the EMUI Pura phones the promised AI updates and the new Kirin processors aren't as good as the old Kirin processors during their time. The new processors heat up a lot. Hotter than dedicated gaming phones. But they're still trying in other aspects like camera and design. Just too many compromises this time.

Good, bad, fair or unfair - C hina is responding to many things; the west as well as internal factors, in an effort to stimulate its own domestic production. I only mentioned the subsidies as a proponent of domestic brand growth rather than the 'fall' of Apple or Samsung, as that is certainly part of the situation. Having said nothing good or bad about Vivo or Samsung, I'm now a C hina brand hater and Samsung/Apple lover to many in this thread. lol

The Android Freak, 08 Feb 2025Depends on how much time they take to improve Funtouch OS. I don't understand why don't they just merge Funtouch into Origin. They clearly do most the development on Origin. This way they have no chance globally.

I would be happy to see Apple completely pushed out of the Chinese market. That would be a fair return for what the US did to Huawei with its stupid policy. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth!

OnePlus needs to use 1 inch sensor next year to nail the product and kill S26U and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
