The company has not made a final decision on the switch though.

What's wrong with special/proprietary smartphone chargers? You can still buy replacements if needed, plus the EU has made it mandatory now for every new device with super fast charging to also support PD, which could be up to 100W. Samsung could just ads 100W PD to their phones and thus be among the top phones when it comes to charging speeds as well.

*(I get that it was joke, just not sure why it needed to be.)

This brings more promise for the S26 Edge

Samsung (and Apple for that matter) are often late with new tech because they need scale. The Chinese sell a lot less flagship phones (100.000s) while the big two sell them in the millions (10s of million for Apple) and production capacity needs to ramp up to supply such vendors.
On the other hand they also like to play it safe and became lazy so it's good that the smaller players have a chance of catching up by implementing new tech first and keeping them somewhat on their toes by pushing the envelope.

I'd love to see a regular S26 with a 6000mAh or similar. I'd definitely snatch one up then.

If a phone with these specs was manufactured, you wouldn't even buy it!

Joke aside, I have here many USBC chargers from 15W to 120W (big ones are for laptops, PD, etc)..not sure what would work and with which phone it will work..so at this stage all fancy charging times do not interest me, I simply do not use my phone 24h per day so I always have 30-45min for charging when needed...

Then, we should stop buying S25 series and wait for S26 series.

Anonymous, 11 hours agoWhy do I feel like that's going to be the only change ... moreSeriously and then market it as groundbreaking innovation. I would like to see Dolby Vision certified M14 panels like iPhones, Si/C battery, 24 mp default mode for better sharpness, better shutter speed, better processing for super zoom shots (vivo, oppo doing crazy) 10x optical camera back, dual tone flash, either bring s pen functions back or completely remove it and finally going back to s21 ultra design (IMHO the best looking ultra). Only this will make me upgrade from my s23u.

Just my opinion, 11 hours agoLol, You're right, they are still fundamentally Li-ion... moreOLED is very different from LCD, you obviously confuse or pack of knowledge about this 2 different tech.

                            LED LCD is updated LCD
OLED never updated from any existing tech prior to OLED

DarlingYext, 13 hours agoI mean, even if the S26 series finally gets Si/C batteries ... moredon't care if they do it early or late, all that matters is that they're doing it and being competitive. If the jump in battery means that they're 10-20% better than others then the slow charging might be acceptable. If not, then it'd only be battery life parity and not battery experience parity.

Now we are buying the charger separately. Also, will we have to buy the batteries the same way, in future?

Watch the base S26 coming using the exact same 4000 mAh battery with 25w charging speed.
