The company has not made a final decision on the switch though.

DerLuke, 9 hours agoIdk why people keep calling these batteries with that name.... moreBecause there isn't a better name right now?
Store-bought raspberry fruit juice is made of almost the same ingredients as pear fruit juice with a tiny difference to swing the flavor one way or another (fun fact - pretty much no raspberry or pear in them), yet they have different names on the boxes, nothing new here.

S26U should being these following upgrades as well:

main camera: 35mm with 1" type sensor (LYT900) with variable aperture

ultrawide: 110° FoV with Samsung GN9 sensor and gimbal-like stabilization (useful for action mode video)

zoom camera 1: 85mm with Samsung GN9 sensor (ALoP, not periscope)

the 10x zoom camera and macro camera are cool but not necessary. Rather stuff like color spectrum sensor might help in taking better photos and videos.

Also for the front camera, I think they should use 2 cameras, with both
utilizing the IMX858 or at least Samsung JN5 sensor. One camera will be the "normal" 1x selfie camera and the other will be the "wide" 0.6x selfie camera (similar to the selfie camera of Asus Zenfone 12U). Autofocus should be present in both, obviously.

Lastly, Samsung's in-house custom ISP (I think they call it ProMotion or something?) should utilize the cutting edge 3nm node available in Samsung foundry. (I think Samsung's image sensors should also use that 3nm node, but I'm not very knowledgeable about it). I also think the custom ISP could be the solution to poor photo and video quality in 3rd party apps. If the ISP can take over most of the image processing, then 3rd party apps can benefit from it. As of now, most of the processing happens on the software side, which are not readily accessible to the 3rd party apps. But if the ISP does the heavy-lifting, then the 3rd party apps can simply rely on it - no further optimization is needed from the developer side. This may have other benefits too like - better video quality (can we finally get to iPhone level quality, please?), lower processing time and thus lower shutter delay, smoother lens switching during video, better exposure handling during video, reduced power consumption during video recording, etc.

Unless APple use these new batteries then Samsung won't, We all know that samsung follows the leader. 🤣🤣🤣

Game Legion, 11 hours agoThose fanboys hating on the technology are going to be lovi... moreSo true... I'm on the edge of my seat, eagerly waiting for that one anonymous commenter who always pokes fun at Chinese OEMs to jump in here. Will he finally own up and admit he was mistaken about Chinese companies being 'foolish' for embracing this technology? Or will he just conveniently overlook it and start showering praise on Samsung's vision? 😂

Idk why people keep calling these batteries with that name. They are the same LiIon batteries with just different anode.. yes, have benefits and an improvement, but in no way those are the holy Grail or such an innovation.. especially if not made with high quality...

Nice move in the right direction 👍🏻

It's Just Kinda Funny How They Didn't Add Silicon-Carbon Batteries On The S25 Series...Hope Samsung Also Upgrade The Charging Speed To 65W For S26+ And Ultra and 45W For S26

Samsung is really copying apple these days, delaying the latest features that most android phones already have

punmeisterone, 10 hours agoOnly one thing I can think of, which is excess inventory of... moreI was thinking the same too. Maybe because of trade-ins, they have a lot of the IMX754 in stock. Disgusting.

Samsung rarely uses new image sensors. What a waste of innovation!

Mewing Sigma, 11 hours agoTo be honest, the 10MP 3x zoom camera is what's making... moreOnly one thing I can think of, which is excess inventory of these abysmal IMX754 sensors and 8.5mm equiv f/2.4 lenses.

Samsung's Procurement unit is definitely showing its ugly head.

ok. that mean s26 ultra will have smaller size of 5000mAh so they can make the phone even thinner XD

Great! After 1 year they will be able to integrate Si/C batteries into their phones and they will finally have time to release A15 for S24U. 🤣🤣🤣

justasmile, 11 hours agoOk, fair enough, not too late, but not early either.I mean, even if the S26 series finally gets Si/C batteries it would still mean that they were one of the slowest, so I'd say it's late.

I will believe when it comes out, they just haven't finished updating Android 15 and this rumor comes out. I get a lot of rumors that the S25 will use Exynos but the facts are Snapdragon and vice versa... don't believe Samsung.

                                  duh, finally!

but the source of this news is new to me. Never heard of them before.

Good move. But will wait for s27 series instead. Because already bought s24+ runs fine. While plus versions are the least popular models I love them the most.

samsung should use graphene batteries for their phones.
