JimmyTheGreatest, 13 Feb 2025I'm 100% sure they'll update their software, not ... more7 or more years of software support isn't only possible but has been done. Do you know how many years Microsoft supports its OSes?

this is what happens when u heavily place skin on top of android. Samsung's selling point of flagships were 7YO software support n fast updates. but users now know the truth....Samsug is just a greedy company who only focus on profits.

Thanks Samsung.
Sorry but I don't the One Bar uses significant NPU power to report basic highlights that have been on phones for YEARS with much lesser SoC's! Its not driving much and no prompting is needed for it.
Samsung is lying thru their asses with this press brief! Some specific functions I'd wager is NPU processing restrictive. Not the Home Bar or One Bar.
Upgrade choices are:
ROG 9 Phone Pro,
Find X8
N5 but this will be later in the year unless I buy a Golf R/

Same old childish rhetoric! Does it affect the current devices sold and in hands of people using them daily? NO!
This isn't a freaking elementary school playground or elementary school show and tell moment. Grow up. You have what you have you don't have what you don't have. Use what you got and move on. Android 15 doesn't really bring much over Android 14 that's why Android 16 is releasnig MUCH earlier!
Scrubbing UI's from all OEM competitors and WITHOUT SEARCHING I'll bet you have NO IDEA what Android15 brings!!!

Specifically ... prompting for more than 1 app to actuate the action. Right now Samsung and OpenAi are the ONLY 2 in the industry that is using this, that I'm aware of.

The only downside to owning a samsung phone. It takes them almost a year after Google release it to the pixel to get the latest android OS and then you don't get some of it cause your phone is a year old.

NoName, 13 Feb 2025Dont buy samsung, they wont update. Got it!I'm 100% sure they'll update their software, not because they like it, but for their own survival as a revered South Korean brand. However, I STRONGLY refute the nonsense of 7 years of update. Those who studied technical physics or industrial economy, can tell you that 7 years maintenance of ANYTHING is almost impossible, specially when it comes to cheaply produced mass-electronics. Things might evolve and change in the future, but as of the current state of the technology, it won't happen. Please do not confuse fantasy with reality.

ThunderCrackR, 13 Feb 2025"been developing One UI 7.0 for the last two to three ... more3 years in development, but the OS still isn't ready for older devices, yeah sounds absolutely believable. It seems more like a situation where they realized the S25 series doesn't do much more than the S24, in some cases does less, so they are intentionally trying to remove features from the One UI 7, that they will push to older devices, to make the S25 series look more "feature rich".

vik457, 13 Feb 2025What???The Chinese want to dissociate from the US hegemony. They have been developing their own system/infrastructure away from the West for decades. Maybe you're too young to understand.
We in the West have democracy, we have election every 4 years. There's no such thing in China, they don't plan for 4 years like us, they have much longer planning. Their government will never accept a platform like Android, because they can't control it easily. So they are developing their own system. Just like Russia started developing a parallel Internet maybe 2 decades ago, because they wanted to be able to control it, they don't want to have the top tier servers (Gateways) placed outside of the Russian Federation. I'm not an expert, which explains why I can't explain this issue in a better way.
