You really have to be acting in bad faith not to see the qualitative leap between an A42 and a simple A36. The pixel density has increased from 266 to 388 dpi, the processor is engraved in 4nm instead of 8, the on-board memory is much faster, the GPU is much more powerful, the available RAM has been doubled, the cameras are of much better quality, as are the speakers. It's not a flagship, but you don't need a 911 to get to work. A simple VW Polo will do. Obviously we won't make a film with it, but who does that?

They provide all the functionality of a smartphone. Above that you can buy a tablet, but between 6.3 and 8 inches it's useless, it's not more practical unless you're short-sighted, in which case you have to go to the eye specialist. Or if you've got big fingers, or in the case of a pro phone with a stylus. Explain to me what more you can do with a 6.8-inch screen? Well, of course the A56 will last 6 years (the A series is 6 years of upgrades, maybe you need to learn to read properly), it has more than enough capacity in terms of processor, as does the build quality (which is close to that of the S series). The only function it lacks is induction charging.

Jokes aside, I just checked Samsung JP website and checked the "Galaxy A-series" part and guess what? They only sell this phone, A55, and A23 5G (that already discontinued) there.
So technically this must be A23 5G's sucessor for them. But ironically, processor and software aside, that A23 5G is still a better phone than this phone. 💀

Even if you mean A56 it wont last 7 years its just an overpriced midranger just like always. Same A50 from 6 years ago had 400 pricetag brand new. Same A56 with 5-10% increase in performance thats it cost 200-300 more depends on storage.
By the way since when small phones are practical???
Tiny phone with tiny specs is useless just like always.
Old galaxy young was tiny and were useless same goes for A20 or A40 etc coiuntless of examples. S25 is far more useless than S25 ultra and compared to something liek Xiaomi 15 ultra everything made by samsung been useless from day one.
Just my point of view.
Apart from selling expensive and everywhere samsung never learned a thing. Releasing same devices each year with 5% performance increase from new CPU but apart from that is useless as the several previous generations which are now much cheaper othervise same phones as the new generations.

With 8GB of RAM, of course it'll last 6 years without any problem, with the finish of an A56 or even an A36 (you understand that an A46 is somewhere between the two in the range?) With a bit of care, possibly a case and a screen protector, any Galaxy A will last 6 years. A smart buyer will be especially careful to get the 256GB version. And if Samsung knows that its big phones sell better than its small ones, why offer the S25 with a 6.2-inch screen? Why has it been the same size for 5 years? Why is Apple offering the iPhone with a 6.1-inch screen? Because it's practical, because people can change their pockets but not their hands, because adults watch films and TV series on a big screen and not on a phone screen, even if it's 6.8 inches, and because adults don't play Genshin Impact but possibly Flight Simulator on a PC with at least 32GB of RAM and a good graphics card. The aim is to cover 100% of the market, Samsung has a large number of references and there is a customer base in Europe at least. Samsung wants to sell, we want to buy, there's no need to look any further. Again, the most likely thing is that I'll buy an S25, and I won't go to any other Android brand because they can't offer me such a format (and I won't buy anything from a Chinese brand anyway).

Said tiny low ammount of people wont feed the market for too long.
Even at samsung they know bigger phones sells better than smaller phones.
And yes they have 6 years of updates even more with casual samsung bloatware someone calls it a usefull apps. For me it was always a bloatware because apps like internet, caledar, clocks and many else you had already in every samsung device from google. See no point to have disk space eaten by same usually worse thing.
Lastly if they were so great with 6 years of updates why they dont giove 6 years of warranty too because noone is stupid enough to believe something like A16 can last 7 years without issues. Thats the story for tiny kids. Not clever adults.

What's wrong with Samsung?! This is just glorified A05 with 5g chipset and they are dare to rebrand it as A25 in Japan?! Not renaming it as a A05 5g or M05. Like for real ?! Samsung ?! Such a slime, pure greed. It's guaranteed going to be a flop.
