S I R E, 20 Feb 2025I'm not sure what you're trying to say. All I kno... moreSony CEO thinks Sony should stop selling electronics and focus on services. So, xperia and bravia may not be around in a few years.
Part of budget for electronics has been directed to DEI.

jiyen235, 20 Feb 2025sure bud. keep eating up the marketing stuff. It is not marketing. It has been tested.

Imx888 has 80% of FWC compared to Type 1.0.
When imx888 is barely more than 40% of Type 1.0 size.

Its FWC is 2x more than imx789 , that has exactly same specs ( 4,3:3 shape , 52mp total with 48mp effective).

Exmor T only needs to be 1/1.28" to match Lyt900.
Less space used, less voltage, less heat, thinner bump.

Exmor RS has first layer with 50% pixel area + 50% logic layer.
Moving logic layer beneath, now surface is only for pixels.

Photodiodes are taller compared to exmor RS. Electronic microscopy was done to show extructure.

Xiaominions e scamsungers are jealous their phones with have never have it.

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2025If Sony wants to be competitive, it has to provides at leas... moreMobile division is a niche market for Sony, their main source of income is camera sensors sold by millions to top mobile brands of the market and PlayStation consoles.
It's not necessarily a bad thing that Sony hasn't made smartphone sales their main source of income. Not caring about market/sales is what led to Sony phones retaining the quality and uniqueness other phones lack, such as headphone jack, microSD slot, front facing stereo, no notch, IP65 etc that conscious customers care about.

Other brands, who rely heavily on smartphone sales for income has gone too far, to the point of making every decision based on maximizing profits, even at the great expenses of level and quality that conscious customers care about. That's why yesterday it was microSD slot, today headphone jack, tomorrow buttons and then USB C.
Unfortunately for customers though, since Sony feels no competition, it knows people who really want those features have no choice but to get an Xperia no matter what the price is.
My suggestion is to buy this phone in 2026 when price will be affordable. For now get the Xperia 5 V.

S I R E, 20 Feb 2025Screw how expensive this one is. No other option remains in... moreCould be the last of it's kind. Just hate how Redmagic and ROG had the right idea of keeping wired audio (still best for gaming) but removing expandable storage options for their top end models.

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2025Mark 7 is on the way. Mark 8 probably. Mark 9 ? Hard q... moreI'm not sure what you're trying to say. All I know is patience will seemingly not pay off in this case. I'll grab what little good is left in the market.

I do hope mark VII is larger than VI and goes even closer to 18:9 with 1440p.

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2025Imx888 ( aka lyt800) is more light sensitive than a 1/1.12&... moresure bud. keep eating up the marketing stuff.

                Mark 8 probably.
                Mark 9 ? Hard question

CEO hates selling electronics ( except PS).

Screw how expensive this one is. No other option remains in this class. I'll take shorter official OS support, smaller while lower res display and non budget friendly price. Who knows when SONY will quit on those features too.

Hopefully I can get the mark VII.

I wonder what feature they cut in next model. Last year Sony got rid of notification light. MicroSD slot? Front mounted speakers? Why not, we'll see.

raditz594, 20 Feb 2025we samsung sisters will defeat you soynyons, somehowsoynyons is hilarious but Sonyons would've been cooler imo

Glenico353, 20 Feb 2025A 3.5mm audio jack is practically useless if you care about... moreoh and "because they lose, forget, etc.," bro, if you care about your own products enough to buy such expensive things, i highly doubt you'd forget. And additionally, who's stopping you from just plugging the dongle onto your headphones and carrying it around like that? I've done that for 3-4 years and haven't faced any issues on my IEMs.

Glenico353, 20 Feb 2025A 3.5mm audio jack is practically useless if you care about... moredo you really think Sony's internal amp is better than a FiiO KA3? LOL

and yeah, charging the phone and listening to music at the same time is the only use case i can think of that can be helped with a 3.5mm jack but even that doesn't really matter as firstly, it is an extremely niche scenario, secondly you shouldn't charge your phone and use it at the same time either and finally due to how good battery is on phones nowadays i don't think you're going to have to do that at all.

Now imagine this, the phone has fast charging so you plug the phone in for 5-15 mins and then come back to a full day's worth of battery life!!! Sony doesn't do that, so because of the problem that you face due to Sony's incompetence, you want to charge and listen to songs at the same time? I truly don't understand this point at all.

And the Asians will still get really yellow skin? Even on natural colors?

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2025Exmor T can absorb 2x the light of Exmor RS of same size. ... moreSamsung uses D-VTG to get same effect.
OmniVision has it's own proprietary tech.

                                    Don't condemn, lil bro.

AntonelPAPI, 20 Feb 2025You must be from China, right? I see that you criticize eve... morebro i criticize what i dont like lol, I think Sony phones are overpriced garbage and the 5 V was the only good thing they ever made. And you think im exaggerating by calling out Sony even tho the phone hasn't been made? Just wait and see, im sure the phone will disappoint unless you're a diehard Sony fan in which case they can sell you the S22+ and you'd still buy it at the 1500 euro price.

I've also had my fair share of criticisms of Chinese phones, if you snooped around the comments sections maybe you'd have seen me bashing a phone here or there. I mean i can whip out some criticisms of popular Chinese phones if that's what you want to hear, i just don't think i have a proper bias towards something, I was heavily biased towards Oppo's Find X7 Ultra due to its processing but now that's gone too with the Find X8 Pro. Just look at my fav phones page and see if you can find proper biases lol

jiyen235, 20 Feb 2025as long as it's still not a phone with a larger than 1... moreA 3.5mm audio jack is practically useless if you care about sound quality.

But for those who listen to music or whatever and charge their smartphone at the same time, who don't want wireless earphones or headphones, who don't want a dongle because they lose, forget, etc., then a 3.5mm audio jack is a must.
