Also exmor T 1/2.3" for periscope and 1/3.4" super wide.

Same results but at higher cost.

It's fine if it's the ultrawide lens. In fact, are you aware that the JN5 supports 4K60 HDR, while the IMX858 doesn't?

      Sensor size isn't everything. Samsung outdid themselves with the JN5. I might even dare to say, it's better than OmniVision's OV50M.

                200mp 4.2x zoom, quite impressive. If it could resolve detail (depends on Bayer filter and processing), it's woyld be basically 8.4x 50mp, 16.8x 12mp.
                Well, at worst, it will be as good as 8.4x 12mp.
                We will see.

                  AnonD-1187531, 25 Feb 2025I'm sure Xiaomi will retain this hardware setup for an... morei dont mind the 3.2x, it's an excellent lens with excellent processing as well, i just wish the UW cam were a 1/2" one or better than the JN5, and that's it, just a small nitpick. That'd be all it would take for Xiaomi to make a damn near perfect phone. The only other hardware thing they should, nay, NEED to add is a dedicated two stage camera button.

                  After that Xiaomi would've made the perfect cameraphone. If they can fix their battery life issues i'm gonna buy a 16 Ultra. Hope they release a 1 TB version globally by then. If the battery life issues are fixed with this one i might buy this but only time will tell.

                    I am legit curious to see how will the HP9 telephoto perform with an ND filter attached to it.

                                  Amazing hardware setup from Xiaomi though. Unlike a company that uses a 2022 1/3.52", 67mm, 10 MP, 3X Sony IMX754 telephoto, with no close focusing ability, and not even up to 12 MP.

                                      interesting, the coating seems like an awesome thing i just wish phones came with replacements or something in the box, would've been cool.

                                      And WOW, Xiaomi is cooking HARD. They've been consistently giving us the largest sensors with the highest apertures possible. Their 3.2x had an f/1.8 aperture, their main cam is the 1 incher with the largest aperture on phones and now their zoom lens is absolutely insane.

                                      For context, this phone, despite being a 4.3x/100mm phone, has an f/2.6 aperture whereas the Magic7 Pro, a 2.5x/60-ish mm phone, has an aperture of f/2.6 whilst using an inferior HP3. The X200 Pro/X100 Ultra are f/2.7 phones at 3.7x/85mm.

                                      Hope Xiaomi doesn't nerf their outstanding speaker quality for these cameras. They're best in the industry. And i'm so curious about the battery life. The launch/reviews cant come soon enough 😭 😭
