vivo X200 Ultra camera sensors revealed in official teaser

26 February 2025
Both the main and the ultrawide have the same top-tier sensor.

Eyaddy, 26 Feb 2025The Vivo X200 ultra might perform exactly like the X100 ult... moremight be worse in 2x main cam sensor crop due to the smaller main cam but will be better everywhere else due to the newer ISP and better processing pipelines. I fear that their processing might be a tad too artificial this year. But I'll reserve judgement till it comes out.

Overall tho, it should be a huge leap in terms of camera lens balance due to the better main cam focal length and the huge UW cam. If they do some software trickery to have a 24-26mm focal length available through a UW cam crop im sure it's gonna be a killer photography tool. Imo 35 mm is the perfect main cam focal length so it's gonna be awesome

NFB, 26 Feb 2025You are completely wrong: Read carefully the descriptio... moreI winder why iphone is so " beloved" by media.
              Nothing special.

Videos use dual exposure by default, many do not. You cannot turn off.
              Footage has huge sharpening amount.
Horrible skin tones ( yellow skin) and even worse when background blur is used ( cinematic mode) , shifts to red tones.
Microfone is inferior to other phones and there is no wind noise suppression option.

Media is afraid of saying heavy critics against apple/samsung to avoid losing audience

AnonD-1190449, 26 Feb 2025Whats your take on the 15 ultra?the zoom champ of the year, no doubt, but the Vivo's gonna be both a better all rounder in terms of lens selection AND a better point and shoot cam due to its consistency. Xiaomi has the highest ceiling in the whole industry, if their processing works right there's no other phone out there that can beat shots from their phones but that happens 10-20% of the time, most of the other times they're comparable to other phones and in some worst case scenarios they're just far inferior, which mostly happens in people shots/portrait shots.

I highly believe that if you're only going to take shots by yourself, of landscapes/in the streets and stuff, then the Xiaomi is easily the better phone. But if you're going to be in social situations often and need to take shots of friends and families/yourself often, then the Vivo is the better choice due to it being more reliable.

Vivo's come so far with their log and video recording quality that i can't really say that the Xiaomi's beating Vivo outright in features but Xiaomi is still slightly superior to Vivo in terms of features/pro tools. So yeah it's somewhat there too. Kinda sad tho that Vivo denoises/sharpens their RAW files afaik but i asked for some X100 Pro raw samples from a guy i know and they were quite nice and you can edit them hard so i don't think it'd be a HUGE issue but still a con for Vivo worth noting.

Just a very competitive spot. Both are exceptional and if you know what you are going to do more, you're going to have an excellent time with either of these phones.

AntonelPAPI, 26 Feb 2025The iPhone video is not so good because of the hardware, bu... moreBecause social media apps are made to be best on iPHones, they're integrated extremely well and essentially have less aggressive compression and most of the phone's processing pipelines. Since it's a closed ecosystem it also must be easier for social media devs to integrate the phones. Most importantly tho, most normies who use social media 24/7 are iPhone users so ofc they want them to have the best experience so they keep them on those apps and perhaps get them to purchase some stuff/do deals.

The point is that if the Ultra is so good then the features will trickle down into later Pro/base X series phones and maybe even V series phones. Was Samsung's video always good? Now even their A series phones take acceptable videos. Back in the day that was NOT the case.

vik457, 26 Feb 2025They would even beat them if they would use sensor features.lmao yeah, they're buying all these massive sensors yet not utilizing them to their fullest. It's baffling but also kind of makes sense.

Apple, Samsung and Google are holding out on hardware but going all out in terms of software. Whereas Chinese phones are going all out on hardware but holding back in terms of software. In order for their future phones to be great deals, they're locking out features. I'd much rather have this form of gatekeeping than Apple/Samsung/Google's way of gatekeeping TBH

AnonD-1187531, 26 Feb 2025Sony says the 818 is better. It's "Innovation".not really, iirc they said it's CLOSE to a 1 incher and in 2x it is indeed dangerously close for a FAR smaller 1/1.3" sensor.

But you also have to understand that this is a 35mm sensor. Look up ZTE 1 inch 35 mm phone and see how thick the camera bump is. People already complain about camera bumps and that camera bump looks like a monster even compared to modern day Chinese cameraphones, basically unusable/unrealistic. A 35mm 1/1.12" sensor might be far more realistic and an awesome middle ground i think.
