Samsung may ditch plastic panels next year in favor of metal ones

Maybe they will be releasing with metal panels for a premium price and another with same specs but with plastic panels for a cheaper option... which sounds like Apple to me.

totally agree!
I used to have wave2. It's made of metal and feels very sturdy and elegant. But yes the problems with metal phone are it is slippery and the pain CHIPPED after several months use.
My points are:
1. Plastic or polycarbonate is not a cheap material
2. The quality of a device is not defined by what it is made of
3. Samsung CAN make a metal phone and HAVE made it before it was cool

It's hight time samsung moved to metal OR glass. I don't care about removable battery! microSD slot can exist in unibody designs just like sony did with xperia Z. What bothers me is that while for example the S4 is a unique device for its amoled screen and exceptionally good battery life, paying such a price for plastic and FAUX metal is not acceptable. It's a pity because the galaxy s line has the most slippery glass of all screens and you can tell samsung is capable of good quality. Anyway A GOOD EXAMPLE OF METAL PHONES FORM SAMSUNG IS THE WAVE LINE... WHICH ARE GREATLY BUILT AND GORGEOUS!

Samsung users defend their love for plastic and criticise other makers for metallic and glass.
Now samsung S5 using metal, the samsung users switch their views and praise Samsung for good move.
