Lock screen widgets are coming with Android 16

The previous android version's lockscreen widget and previous GoodLock iteration are nothing compared to what we have now. The old lockscreen style widget can only be used one widget at a time, non interactive, non-scroll able, refreshes only when you lock and unlock your screen, need to have a dedicated separate page, limited to like 30% space on the lock screen, fixed placement, and cant be use on the Always On Display.

          Samsung's current implementation solve all of that.

Technology has advanced so much that phones can now be unlocked with a face, a fingerprint, etc. in milliseconds, if not faster. And you have access to all the apps. On my current phone, I can't even see the fingerprint animation, it unlocks so quickly. I didn't say that this innovation shouldn't be there. It's just that for me this "innovation" is completely unnecessary. On the lock screen, there should be just a clock, a picture, notifications, and if you want, player controls. Everything else is just a pure and simple battery drain with almost no benefits.

                        Isn't the point of a lock screen to keep your screen locked and prevent you from accessing information from apps? Now we're going to make the lock screen feel like an unlocked screen. Great.

                            For those who are unaware, with GoodLock, Samsung users can already put widgets on their lockscreen since a year ago. And it works quite well.

                            I dont know if i can paste the link in GSMArena's comment section, but if you want to know more, just search "reddit: Update: You can now add ANY Widgets anywhere you like on your Lock Screen. Good Lock + LockStar" and you can find the post explaining this feature.

                            You can even put widgets on your Always on Display. Which is neat. Makes my S24U looks awesome.
