Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge's battery capacity confirmed through certification

Let's just say battery life won't be among this phone's main selling points.

Someone Else, 11 Mar 2025S25 = 146.9 x 70.5 x 7.2 mm = ~74,500 mm3 S25 Edge = 158.2... moreHonestly I don't understand why they'd risk the bad press of poor battery life, especially when the 17 Air is rumored to have decent battery life. The device is clearly going to be selling in lower volumes anyways so you'd think they'd try to test out silicone carbide on the S25 Edge and kill two birds with one stone. Give the really thin phone good battery life AND test the benefits of silicon carbide and it's impact on logistics at the same time

    S25 = 146.9 x 70.5 x 7.2 mm = ~74,500 mm3
    S25 Edge = 158.2 x 75.5 x 5.84 mm = ~69,700 mm3

    From the dimensions, the S25 Edge to be 7~8% smaller volume wise than even the regular S25. So the reduction of 3~4% less battery than the standard S25 is a given.

    Samsung should have use this opportunity to introduce silicon based batteries on the S25 edge for a bigger battery tho. But since it is marketed as a thin and light version of the S25 series, and sticking with lithium batteries, I guess that's all they can squeeze in.

      Nikojas, 11 Mar 2025Smaller battery,one less cameras and a higher price than th... moreAnd slower charging as well. Fail on arrival.

        This phone should've never even existed considering Samsung hasn't made any advancements in battery technology. Apple will probably be able to get away with a smaller, traditional Li-ion battery in the 17 Air because GSMArena's own battery tests have shown that having complete control over hardware+software makes for a more efficient phone. Chinese OEMs will be able to fit 4800mAh-5200mAh batteries in their slim phones because they're using Si/C batteries (Tecno recently fit a 5200 battery in a 5.75mm phone). You're basically getting the worst of both worlds with the S25 Edge and it's probably going to be in the same price range as the 17 Air

          Nikojas, 11 Mar 2025Smaller battery,one less cameras and a higher price than th... moreAnd probably compromises with other components too.

                no telephoto lens, battery below 4000mah, charging below 30w
                this phone makes no sense
                Chinese brands will also launch their ultra-thin devices
                but the advantage is that Chinese brands should use a telephoto lens and at least 5000mah batteries......
                if Samsung charges more than 800 dollars for this device it will be stranded...
