    If they can bring hi res to all their sensors in phone and out hi res raws, just then we can talk about competition.
    Having just main camera as hi res is behind the times even on foldables which got worse cameras, not to mention bar phones.
    Well, I still consider hi res more valuable than l9w res, but sony isn't offering even low res with superior sensor sizes, what's the point then. 12mp with 200.000ISO would made a sense, otherwise it's better having 200mp and 12.000ISO, not that brands are offering unlimited iso to begin with, ah good times of high iso in phones....

        Never thought SONY would fall for the pixel wars, especially with their decades of experience and success in the camera world.

        I was more interested/hopefull for a 24-36MP 1"+ size sensor with global shutter. No tiny pixels, no AI, No binning, just pure clean *light is king* approach.

          Any info on ov50x?

            We Wont see 1 inch main cameras for a long time , this is replacing it due to costs, Sony saw a market and is providing for it
            200mp main -Sony
            200mp periscope- Samsung
            So the high pixel numbers are here to stay

              "big sensor", so basically just another 200mp useless ai sensor.

                  It could be a custom sensor for OEM purchase. This is so not Sony.

                    Since having Xperia Ray, Z3, M4 Aqua, Z3plus, Xperia XZ Premium... etc, all of them was GARBAGE. Same Engineers from Sony with same GARBAGE processing camera, till now to the last phone all of them is just GARBAGES. Same GARBAGE, look where is SONY NOW, nobodys use a sony mobile from years, their cameras are in 2025 from 2012 just GARBAGE. Same stupid processing with their camera.

                      1/1,12" sensor with 0,7 micrometer pixel pitch?

                        I'm not excited, it's like taking the "Sony" element out of Sony.

                        Big pixels give big bokeh and very beautiful colours, that I have't seen being achieved by binning.

                          As it would be 1/2.8 at 50MP and 10Times anyway. Just with versatility as you can't use a 10Times persicope for anything below 10Times and would need to zoom as far just to get decent image quality.

                                      Problem is manual camera compare to most phone is auto or ai filter
