    Almost 9.2cm wide?
Too far impossible to use with one hand.
    Ultra useless.
Basically an even smaller version of booky foldables, not flip phone

Aierlan, 20 Mar 2025Yeah, Huawei is the most innovative brand in the smartphone... moreProcessors are not innovation. He's talking real excitement inducing changes here. Practical things, not more speed.

wsad, 20 Mar 2025there is nothing revolutionary about this: it's a fold... moreWhat are you even talking about. The black bars on this are tiny vs a normal 19.5:9 or 20:9 phone. 16:9 is very close to 16:10.

Makes me miss the days of my 7" MediaPad X2 in 16:10.

I hope this is successful, because 20:9 / 19.5:9 absolutely suck, and were always just a cost saving / marketing measure.

A Pura X Ultra in 6.8" with much bigger / better cameras would be awesome.

there is nothing revolutionary about this: it's a folding phone with a bizarre aspect ratio. Imagine watching youtube videos on this: two huge black bars above and below the video. Other apps will probably scale in weird ways as well. Overall: nothing that will move hawuei into the closer to the leading smartphone brands.

This is the first bi-fold device that has captured my interest.

If there is one change I would have liked here would be a 16:9 aspect ratio (keeping the width same in the unfolded state while increasing the height, something like 2340x1320 resolution). This would result in a 6.8" display and would become a fantastic device for multimedia consumption as well.

              Nevertheless, kudos for the effort!

Without a doubt, a unique and incredible design, this is called innovation, not the garbage that Apple makes.

David 040882, 20 Mar 2025Huawei, with all the sanctions and restrictions, is still a... moreA captive audience and a govt that can bully Huawei's business partners such as ASML.

DarlingYext, 20 Mar 2025Huawei with all their ban and sanctions is innovating more ... moreYeah, Huawei is the most innovative brand in the smartphone market for the last number of years. Very little innovation from Samsung, OPPO, Xiaomi or Vivo to be honest in the last few years. I think maybe a little more from Vivo coz at least they have their own ISP but they haven't really introduced anything different. Apple designs their own processor and has their own OS so that actually does require innovation each year, at least the processor design. Xiaomi 15s pro will come with Xiaomi's own processor this year so looking forward to seeing how that works out

To say that i love this device will be an understatement.

I still don't know what the perfect design for a foldable is. It seems there is a compromise no matter what size or aspect ratio and it's no different with this phone. I guess Huawei is trying anything to see what sticks.

Like the Mate XT, I'll give Huawei credit for brining these ideas to reality but they're still taking inspiration from Samsung. This was the 1st Fold concept we ever saw when the guy was sitting with the girl in the cafe back in 2012.

It's a groundbreaking idea for foldable phones. It looks really nice. This is a Pura and I'm sure its cameras are capable too.

                            This is the way

Huawei with all their ban and sanctions is innovating more and more and is still full of new ideas, yet the likes of Samsung and Apple still can't bring anything new to the table.

This is awesome, very useful and handy with amazing colours too.

Dude Huawei is somehow with all the restrictions always pulling the trigger on other companies, this is basically the most usable flip design yet, not like the others where when you flip it open you have to do finger gymnastics to get the top of the screen

I don't like sticky notes or anything like that! But this is pretty cool...

Wow, cool and very usable device.

Possibly the most usable unfolded aspect ratio to date.

I don't like foldables at all but this is good.

Screw narrow aspect ratios and screw square unfolding devices. Neither excel at anything.
