It's the world's only tri-foldable at the moment - would you want one or something similar? Or is this just a gimmick?

It is the future and other companies will start copying.

    The reason why I voted "All foldables are gimmicks" is because they're more than proportionately expensive, heavy and huge for now.
    And there's not much of a use case for it, maybe 1. on-table presentations and 2. bragging rights, that's about it. So, it's useful for some customers, I'm just not included in them.

    That said, I'm VERY open minded to the future iterations of the tri-fold concept, provided it gains some use cases, like exclusive & useful apps in this aspect ratio, etc.

          Yuri84, 25 Mar 2025You know, EU somehow managed to force Apple to use USB-C. ... moreand it's EU themselves who are removing chargers from boxes, forcing smaller batteries and forcing wireless headphones oh and also forcing electric cars, in other words accelerating planned obsolescence. EU is in support of portless iPhones/phones.

          And user replaceable batteries are either gonna be extremely painful, extremely expensive or they're gonna be basically useless as companies can tag the batteries and artificially drain them. I have no faith in that at all. The only way forward is by giving users larger and larger batteries with exceptional base endurance alongside fast charging so that even if the endurance is lower, at least you have fast charging and if the base endurance is high then the degraded endurance should still lead to a good experience.

          But yeah, keep running to daddy EU, one W aint gonna mean anything. You're winning the battle but losing the war

            Watch his videos and maybe you will learn something.
            Foldables are fragile and said folding paper thin screen with a plastic screen protector on it is like a plaster for a broken leg.

              I wish there were a model that could run legitimate desktop Windows.
              Seems like I'd rather carry this around, than a bifold.
              If it could surpass 5 hours SOT, had decent durability, A+ camera... seems like the successor to the Note. I'd probably even be fine carrying around a stylus & 5k battery bank, or some kind of battery case.
              Main fear is the exposed screen edge when folded. Cost. Battery/multiple battery problems.

                Oh, and from 2027 phones are supposed to have user-replaceable batteries. EU rule.
                Australia forced Steam to add a refund possibility (if you played less than 2 hours within 2 weeks from purchase).

                It seems people that have a vote, can have SOME influence after all. Sadly, simply boycotting no longer works, but you can still spread the word and maybe more people join. Even if it's a simple random comment online :)

                                You could... not buy it? Write to their X account that you're protesting against planned obsolescence and won't buy it? Demand from politicians you can get in contact with to ban planned obsolescence in laws? Demand right to repair? Demand 10 year warranty on any electronics more expensive than $50? Demand parts availability and repair manuals and all related materials to be free and open to all for at least 15 years since the sale of the device?

                                Yeah, nothing you can do about it.

                                  Any foldable item must and shall break one day

                                    We all know, the best would be kind of S25Ultra with foldable screen.. but there are no such phones.
                                    MateXT misses a lot in tele range since there is no hi res tele, even poor sensor sizes aside.
                                    As for 2fold vs 3fold, I hope cameras and batteries get better or to per screen space comparable to bar phones.
                                    If yoy have for comoarison screen 10" and camera 1/3".... vs 6.9" screen and 1" camera, some compromises ate too big.
