[deleted post]And the fact that there's no justification whatsoever for that price + the traditional Li-Ion battery would inflate the phone after a couple of years.

Darth Caesium, 28 Mar 2025If they can somehow do that without compromising the specs ... moreAnd given how fragile Samsung phones are, prospective buyers would also purchase a case, which hinders the slimness of the phone.
Apart from that, the traditional Li-Ion battery would give a poor battery endurance, alongside the telemetry and bloatware apps with the power-hungry chipset.

It depends on how much it costs, then.

Anonymous, 28 Mar 2025I see you contradicted yourself? Edge is an established Sam... moreNot slimness but the curves at the edge of screen

I predict this phone will be a sales failure. Huge thin phone is still bulky, but has considerably worse battery life and worse and/or less cameras.

So many negative comments...
Big screen, super light, great camera and best processor...even with a small battery, i will buy one for sure. The guy with its 220g Ultra brick will be red with envy...

I'm just not interested in thinner phones because anything you can do on a thinner phone to get it on par with a thicker one, can also be applied on the thicker model and make it even better.

Darth Caesium, 28 Mar 2025I hope they will fail tooThey're casually giving 6000mah batteries under 8mm thickness tho.. optimisation is another matter but my case still stands. Vivo or Oppo can comfortably pump out a 6mm device with 5000mah battery or atleast better screentime than what this device would give for same screen size

Looks fine, not amazing, but fine if it doesn't protrude too much (way better than a huge washing machine-like circle on the back).
But they should have used silicon-based batteries...
And made a sub-6" version (also with a silicon-based battery).
So many missed opportunities, next time maybe.

Why are they releasing this now instead of next year with the rumored stacked battery. Then it will be another option in the lineup without massive battery life downgrade. What is this strategy of selling a problem and then fixing it later.

DarlingYext, 28 Mar 2025It just looks cheap, doesn't fit into the S series.Looks almost exactly like A06. I took a look in a shop and thought to myself if it was S25 edge.

Anonymous, 28 Mar 2025I see you contradicted yourself? Edge is an established Sam... moreYou don't know what you are talking about. Edge was introduced for phones with curved edges - the thing that unfortunately samsung decided to get rid of. Samsung Galaxy Note Edge was the first one.
Still, good thing that you know how to use a keyboard! You are on the good path!

atichko, 28 Mar 2025Well, most people buy with their eyes instead of looking at... moreWhile there is some truth to that, if most people buy with their eyes, insinuating that most people will want to buy a phone that looks good, why do most people buy Samsung and iPhones, which have had the same boring designs for the past 4-5 years? Sure, they're not ugly, but they're unbearably boring and unexciting, as you said. So in the end, people buy Samsung and iPhones because it gives them that wealth status or that feeling that they are someone important. But this relates more to iPhone users tbh.
Then again, Samsung and Apple also keep it simple with their design so that it attracts a broader audience. If they used big, round camera bumps like the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and vivo X200 Pro, surely not many would like that, as it would be too striking for the average buyer. But surely, both Samsung and Apple can change the design of their phones without exaggerating and still keeping it simple and mass-appealing.
