Trying to brag about being an IT professional sounds more like you've never been close to a computer.

"Once loaded, there is no need" it had to be loaded though.

"Most games are under 2GB" idk what in the tetris and candy crush are you playing but games are easily 20+ GB these days.

PUBG Mobile with HD resources - 22.6 GB
    NEW STATE - 24+ GB
    LIOS - 19-21 GB
    Knives out - 22 GB

If you think 200mb/s is all video recording needs then you have no clue about cameras and I don't care to explain since you're gonna pull something plout of thin air like "I've developed cameras with red, I know more than you"

Modern phones can capture videos is LOG, RAW, EMULATED COLOR SPACES, 4K 60+, 8K 30+, 10 Bit and 12 bit color and bursts upto 300+ frames per seconds for RAW DNG Files, easily saturating a measly 200mb/s

But anyway, you're only interested in hollow bragging with child like claims "ooh I've done this, I've done that, I know more than you" you don't know shit.

Trying to negate uses of fast storage is the last think an IT professional would do.

You're not worth going back and forth with, keep arguing and announcing yourself the winner.

Let someone know if you need anything with that copium, maybe they'll oblige.

I couldn't care less, I'm sure people are smart enough to understand how important storage speeds are and ignore the ignorant IT Professional here.

            If 3.8 million represents 100%
            Then 2.69 million represents x

            x = 269/3.8 =~ 70.7%

Snapdragon 8 Elite has ~70.7% performance in AnTuTu benchmark compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite2. In other words, the former is ~29,3% faster.

Pretty sure that the 8 Elite 2 will be using Third generation Oryon cores
First generation was in the XElite and second Generation was in the 8 Elite
The XElite 2 and 8Elite 2 should use the third generation Oryon cores,
If XElite 2 is released first then 8 Elite 2 could possibly even use the Fourth gen Oryon cores

Bottleneck where? Care to find a single common and widespread workload that's affected by it? Just one! I dare you.

S I R E, 28 Mar 2025You're the one throwing words around to look smart. ... moreOMG, we have an expert here!

                                > System RAM does not onload the entire game, that's utterly stupid of you and evident that you don't know how things work.

Most Android games are well under 2GB *including* their data while most devices have at the very least 8GB of RAM. That's enough to keep *everything* in RAM. And even in the PC space, binaries are well under 200MB, so they are fully cached at all times. Only game data is being loaded/streamed when necessary. Not a single "heavy" PC game runs faster on PCI-e v5 storage vs PCI-e v3 storage. Levels load faster, that's it. Overall, you have completely failed this argument.

                                > Purposely overlooking major aspects like video recording (common) photography (common) that absolutely rely on storage speeds to write data since there are no smartphone cameras with sensor D-RAM chaches to keep a buffer unlike dedicated cameras. There is no substitute for faster storage.

Let's break it down, shall we?

                                1. Video recording? Well under 200Mbps. 10 year old smartphones can do it. Zero difference.
                                2. Photo shooting? Even less.
                                3. Burst photo shooting? This is where 8GB of RAM helps and storage speed is inconsequential.

Also, we are talking about RAW performance. Another debunked non-argument.

                                > There are countless tasls running in the background needing constant reads and writes.

How exactly does this impact performance? Do you have a single benchmark that measures this? What if I told you that on my 8GB of RAM with over 120 background tasks, I still have over 3GB of free RAM, so storage performance only affects *very* rare applications that need to write a lot of data all the time? In fact, according to iotop, hardly anything is writing data. I want to know what those magical apps are that actually read and write gobs of data in the background. There's no need to make stuff up to look "smart". Another failed argument.

                                > People often underestimate modern apps ability to gobble up RAM and where do you think the temp files are stored when that happens? It's called system swap and all operating systems do this and this is why a system with all it's storage full becomes sluggish.

You don't understand the difference between SWAP and temp files. Those are completely unrelated. The former one exists to back up physical RAM pages to storage under memory pressure. Most Androids don't have SWAP enabled in the first place.

Temp files? Mythical temp files? How does it affect the perceived performance? What's the workload exactly? Web browsing/scrolling through social network feeds? Very light on IO, in fact IO load for these activities is negligible. What else?

                                > You throw around words to seems smart and win arguments, a truly smart person makes it easier for people around them to understand how something works if they don't know.

I'm a bloody IT professional who has contributed to the Linux kernel development and the development of tools like systemd-oomd and earlyoomd that you know nothing about. I know a bit about operating systems, swapping, caching, buffers, temporary files, file systems, networking and a ton of other stuff.

                                > You on the other hand are prime example of Dunning Kruger Effects.

Getting personal and resorting to personal insults? Well, thank you for admitting you cannot argue.

Try to find me a single widespread and common enough workload on Android that is really affected by mass storage performance not to look pathetic.

ngl going from 1 mil to 4 mil antutu score in like 4 years is wild (gen 1 to 8 elite 2)

Some people underestimate the impact of fast storage/memory in a phone smoothness and that snappy feeling. Usually CPUs are already bloody fast, even something in the midrange segment like an Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, and the main bottleneck is always storage speeds.
