    better ISP chips that are mostly in-house now
    higher nit displays
    more durable IP rated phones (most newer flagship models at IP69)
    leagues ahead in foldable tech in hardware and software
    camera hardware is best in the industry
    typically use more efficient SOCs (look at performance per watt and sustained performance metrics of MediaTek chips vs Qualcomm)
    devices get flagship specs for more affordable prices (meaning superior supply chain efficiencies and economies of scale) for both smartphones and tablets

      Pumpino, 05 Apr 2025A dodgy Chinese company? Surely not.And the fact that Samsung and Apple have gotten into a never-ending fight to become the next Nokia, except excelling in marketing and lacking in both identity and innovation whatsoever. This downfall would be pretty satisfying to see, and seems pretty long overdue, doesn't it?

      I wouldn't be surprised to see Apple suing BBK and Xiaomi for relying on the same ODM to make their phones, together with using iOS as inspiration for their software, Samsung suing BBK for copying their ringtones and both suing Lenovo and BBK together for using their marketing slogans and nomenclature.

            Anonymous, 05 Apr 2025Samsung is becoming quite the patent troll.Patent troll is someone who just sits on the patents and doesn't do anything with them and sues someone who does. Samsung is instead doing something with their patents.

                      I have iqoo 12 that use visionox oled display, and also rog phone 7 that use samsung display. Tbh, iqoo 12 display is much more vibrant and much brighter than the rog phone. Hdr is much more prominent at iqoo 12 display. Samsung should step up their game, instead of waste their resource to suing.

                                      .alpha, 23 hours agoSamsung is lagging behind the Chinese in innovation now so ... moreIt's not hard to lag behind a competitor when you're doing stuff normally and they are stealing from several companies to get ahead. The Chinese companies are disreputable in that way and even when people say they are 'innovating', it's at a point where it's not really a huge difference. I have an LG oled TV for example, don't plan to upgrade for a while because the visual difference would be next to zero, I don't foresee any other major innovation that would be worth considering either. Do you have some examples of a worthwhile innovation?

                                        Samsung did dirty tricks to japanese electronics companies (sony is one of them) long ago.
                                        Now chinese do the same to samsung.
