Weekly poll results: the Google Pixel 9a could do with a price cut

People like the design and the size, but are less keen on the price - there are plenty of mid-rangers that offer better hardware for the same amount of money.

It's probably because Chinese maker phones are actually very good devices with a lot of very good features, Huawei were the best overall, oppo make very good phones (I recommended a mate the find X2 pro, he loved it, I replaced a pixel 6 pro with a find X5, was a far better device than the pixel) and Xiaomi are making high quality, good software devices (not used Xiaomi since 2018).

You also realise south Korea is right next to china right? Never in the same category though (both Asian country companies). At this point really people are choosing phones based off company preference than tech per dollar or for specific feature sets and simply cost of the phone.

Just curious but how come you don't like Chinese devices and which companies have you used and what issues have you had?

Thus they only have praises for specs per dollar, because they have no experience using their phones for other things than playing gaccha games. Just ignore them buzzing in internet forums.

When Apple announces iPhone prices, they are only applicable to US, and that is before any additional tax. So in reality announced prices are just misleading. Actual prices for every market is different

          There are better phones (at the same price)
          Price is the issue (because better phones exist at the same price)

          In conclusion, both are the same reason. You just aren't bright enough to understand. That's your problem :)

They will pay if it's worth buying at that price. And contracts and emi exists for other phones too, so who will still go for the pixel ? Maybe hardcore google fans, but again, does anything like google fans even exists ? haha

              The A series Pixel is better off being a sub 400 phone and the base storage should be 256 GB

              Google does not seem to realise that there are plenty of chinese phones offering better specs and even the camera is not a strong selling point for the pixels now
              The pixel still has the size advantage tho, but at $600 most buyers will pass that on in favour of much better specs in other phones in the segment

I spoke to an Indonesian friend on this website a while ago and she posted a link showing an iPhone SE (2022) for $430 converted from the Indonesian Rupiah. I guess she wasn't lying when she mentioned that the prices of the cheapest iPhones could go up to the prices of the Galaxy S series.

                        Like I said before. It's a good phone for 300€ for 256gb model...

                          Why even bother doing polls if you misreport the results? It's an ugly, bad phone, I wouldn't use if it you gave it to me for free, nothing to do with price

                                  For the 25% of people who believe there are better midrangers out there, I'd like to know which ones have great cameras, speakers and haptics in a compact size. Sure, some Chinese phones might come with faster chips, bigger batteries and faster charging, but they're not the only measures of what make a great phone.

                                  Something like the Poco F or X series are huge, have crappy cameras, a crappy OS, and only occasional updates (with no bug fixes or optimisation).
