Colors from 1:1 comparsion on the FX8 Ultra looking more dull, less sharp, and less contrasty. Check that yellow robot thing.

FX8U is noticibly better than FX7U

I correct myself about UW. At first i thought UW was better on X8U (it's cleaner and oily) but looking more, nope, X7U is better, better details, more robust and just better.
Main cam the same, maybe some finer textures on X8U if you struggle to see the difference, but actually the same quality, and clearly better x3 and x6 on X8U.

X7 Ultra still the prettiest phone to me.
X8 Ultra better UW, better x3 and better x6 than X7U.
Couldn't find a difference between main cam, but other three immediatede difference.

I can see the new phone has much better zoom performance than before. But then again, the X7 Ultra is still a monster and still good for a few more years.

Thank you for the comparison, GSMarena team.
My own observations:
X8U 14mm has better optics compared to X7U, but the smaller sensor take a hint in DR and noise.
The main 1" at 23mm has a little finer details in the X8U because of newer and better processing algorithms.
The 70mm portrait lens is clearly better on the X8U, the LYT sensor has lower noise combined with higher DR, even at the same sensor size, and the faster lens produces shallower DOF compared to the X7U lens.
At 135mm the X8U is much better compared to the X7U, even at double the ISO value. The X7U can't compete and lowers the shutter speed in the try to get better light gathering.
As stated before, it's sad to see, Oppo made 2 steeps ahead in the tele department and one back with the smaller sensor on the ultra wide.
Now, I'd like to see a phone with at least 2x 1" sensors, wide and portrait, that would be something really to look forward to buy!

Good upgrades on the ultrawide and the x3 but very similar on the main camera and x6.

Oppo's Hasselblad Master Mode looks amazing with very nuanced colour reproduction and gentle rendition of shadow tones. Although it was to prevent the app from automatically switching the lenses, it's great that GSMArena decided to use this mode to show what the photos coming out of this mode look like, nonetheless.
I strongly hope the full review will include a dedicated section to showcase the actual image quality difference between the Hasselblad Master mode and the regular auto mode.
Find X8 Ultra seems to render a far softer defocused background (This is more obvious on the 6x lens as now the bokeh balls are circular and less defined outlines) and has more microcontrast where the focus is set. X7 Ultra does a decent job given it's year old, but it's pretty clear that the successor is performing better here.
I actually prefer X7 Ultra's UWA camera, however, since it's a bit wider and manges to keep more details in the frame although the output is a tad noisier. X8 Ultra's much smaller JN5 sensor is struggling in indoor lighting and being forced to apply more noise reduction to the image to catch up with the other 3 cameras, and it shows.

I'm surprised you said the new X8U can focus up close with the 6X lens, while the X7U can't. The 6x lens is the best macro lens on the X7U, with a minimum focus distance of about 35 cm while the 3x lens is ~25 cm.
On the new X8U however, the 3x lens has real macro functionality with a focus distance of 10 cm, while other reviewers have said the new 6x is about 100 cm (!) due to the W prism structure. They've said it will always switch to the 3x lens within that distance. It should say f/2.1 however in the Exif data, but perhaps it doesn't in master mode?
If you are correct about the new 6x lens, then that would be even better!
