Anonymous, 22 Apr 2025Google sends out broken updates close to 100% of the time, ... more100% of the time, LOL. Exaggerate much? Look, I'm no fan of Google anyway. You're missing the point, Samsung really screwed up the One UI 7 rollout. That's the bottom line. This is one of the biggest screw ups since the Note 7. In fact, its so big that some are leaving Samsung for other brands. Now, I'm not one of these people, although I have threatened it, but there just isn't any other phone brand that gives me the all the features of the S series for the money. The only other phone brand I would even consider is One plus, because I really like Oxygen Os, its a beautiful UI. It's probably the only one I think that looks as good as One UI.

jsoprano75, 15 Apr 2025Hey bud, I'm not saying Apple and Google are perfect, ... moreGoogle sends out broken updates close to 100% of the time, which then they will take the next few months fixing. or years. Last i heard there are a known and logged problems still not fixed on the Pixel 6 - So much for X number of years of software support.
As for Apple, I don't keep track, but the last few major Apple updates all caused major issues, including emails not working, significant battery life drop, introduced new security issues, etc. All Apple OS updates comes with the typical "feature" of the whole phone slowing down, and funky new features all disabled on older phones (i.e. no major change other than phone slowing down). Many iPhone users i know all avoid updating their older phones to prevent their phones from slowing down.

They are focusing on just the right things, by adding enough specs, but not too much to the point where the phone will look great on paper, but won't actually be good. Their Helio G99 and G100 powered phones aren't exactly a looker on paper, but we both know that they somehow perform good, optimization AND having enough RAM (more than 6GB, and definitely not 4GB) is key.

We all know it's late, but stability is more important especially for the A series take your time Samsung. Most people are complaining about no upgrade at least in the camera in Samsung Galaxy S but the A & M series (even though it's a brand new 2025 phone) are the one who suffers the most from overheating whie shooting (maybe it's just the hardware) but the camera software needs more optimization if you you want to sell with such a weak SoC just for the promise of 6 years software update.

I really want Infinix to become a more household name. Hopefully their new phones get more publicity because they really give value for money.
Sure the bloatware is annoying, but what Chinese phone doesn't have that, right?
Even Xiaomi loads up their phones with insane adware.
The Infinix 30 series were something else. They actually generated a bit of buzz in my region.

Unfortunatelly I had to sell my Note 30 Pro 4G, but I was always surprised by how good the camera was on that device, despite how cheap it is, but on the Zero Ultra and Zero 30 the cameras are actually shockingly good, especially surprising is the in-sensor zoom on the Zero 30, which works so well it can even do macro shots.

DarlingYext, 15 Apr 2025Eyy! High five! I've got a Zero Ultra as well actually... moreHere in my region they have a phone series called the "hot" lol. I have the 50 pro. I have always respected infinix since they were one of the first vendors to release an Android One series phone (what an era that was!) and I still have that Infinix Hot Android One device, which STILL works despite being outdated like heck.
The hot 50 works smoother than Samsung's A series somehow. And the camera, despite not being amazing, still works faster than any budget/mid ranger Samsung releases.

"And what apps are you running on android 7 phones which the latest android can't?"
I've never said I'm doing anything like that, because I don't, so don't know where that question even came from. Basically everything works on Android 7, except Google Wallet, Banking apps and YouTube, but they are just collection pieces.

I'm using 1 at a time out of 4, and those would be the Magic4 Pro (Android 15), vivo X Note (Android 15), Infinix Zero Ultra (Android 13), or the Zero 30 (Android 13).
The rest are on display, but are charged and connected to WI-FI every month to see if they would still be usable and they would be. The only issue with Android 7 is that it just went unsupported so YouTube doesn't work, but other important apps do.

I wont set my s24 on fire just yet
Having said that, yeah samsung needs to get their sh#t together and next year bring some tangible hardware upgrades to the 26 series and definitely need to work of their communication, one ui 7 may be the breaker to wherever or not i stay on the Sammy train when my contract ends at the end of year

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2025Correct, sounds like the rollout will resume within days if... moreIt is legit, I already have the S25 plus and One UI 7 completely transforms the look of the phone. Most people agree that this is the biggest Samsung update since they moved away from TouchWiz. This is the reason so many people are frustrated, as technically this should have been released at the beginning of the year. Samsung really dropped the ball, so much so, that I was almost prepared to upgrade my S24 to the S25, especially since its a free upgrade through my carrier. The only thing that stopped me from upgrading is that I really love my S24 and I have too many things to transfer over if I switch devices. I hate having to log into all my apps again after getting a new phone, its a pain in the rear.
