vivo X200 Ultra camera hardware detailed before launch, VS1 "AI ISP" does 80 TOPS

15 April 2025
That's a lot of performance - for reference, it's almost double what the Snapdragon X Elite's NPU is rated for (that's the laptop chip, not the mobile 8 Elite).

Staggered hdr and dol hdr that are used now actually have higher power consumption, because of more off-chip processing and this phone will actually use it(hp9 supports it too)

Gen-Z keyboard warrior, dreame on ! The 15 Ultra is no match for the X200 Ultra.

Still no match or competitor for a xiaomi with 4 super B cameras on its back.

Bloody impossible that the least innnovative and most expensive comany is first.

Nick Tegrataker, 15 Apr 2025Vivo's imaging chips are significantly more performant... moreBut latency is a big deal when we are talking about the ISP within the SoC vs external processing chips. And how significant would be the end result? If Qualcomm's ISP is really inadequate, why would other OEMs had not done anything about it for decades?

I like Vivo, but I'm skeptical here. Why bother putting in a chip with that much TOPS? I wonder if it would serve a different purpose later on.

Nick Tegrataker, 15 Apr 2025Vivo's imaging chips are significantly more performant... moreidk if it actually helps in saving battery life/in being more efficient as Vivo's, just like all other chinese companies', video recording efficiency is just horrible compared to Samsung and Apple. Idk what exactly they're doing but having inferior recording quality alongside higher battery usage just means there's something terribly wrong going on.

Their photography is so good that i can forgive their videography somewhat but Chinese manufacturers REALLY need to get their videography game up. Being equivalent to Samsung isn't that impressive anymore. They need to dethrone Apple, ASAP.

Aierlan, 15 Apr 2025Why would you want an f1.4 aperture? It's harder to co... moreaperture by itself isn't doing much, aperture + sensor size alongside the exposure time/iso dictate the brightness/light intake.

So, since the sensor is "only" 1/1.3", i want the phone to have more light intake with a faster aperture.
