Again, a couple of months of announced waiting is not a big deal, considering the huge migration and testing from OpenGL to Vulkan on 70+ devices for the first time for Samsung. In addition to A15 and new features.
As for the end user, it means it's a bigger update, worth the slightly longer wait :)
Anyway, it is currently rolling out to users.
"now it's biting them back"
Did you read the article? One UI 8 A16 is almost here, they are back on track (even earlier than usual).

One UI 7 already looks cool. Just do some optimizations so it becomes more stable and smooth. Its smooth but lags here and there especially when scrolling.

Does that matter to the end user? No, it absolutely doesn't. It's just another excuse from Samsung given as a reason why there is a delay. The real reason however is Samsung's incompetency to keep any of their promises and now it's biting them back, rightfully so.

Tarabyte, 16 Apr 2025The s25 comes with One UI 7 out of the box- hence why its n... moreOne UI 7 software for the S25 was built directly on Vulkan, there was no need to rebuild and test everything from OpenGL to Vulkan, as on older models.
All of that while upgrading to A15 and adding new features.
But, they could have chosen to make this a 2 step release (first A15 and features, then Vulkan). But they chose to make a huge update that will not delay future updates anyway, as we can see with this early One UI 8 leak.
This rollout pause was a false alarm, it is already resuming. People I know with the S24 Exynos (eww, btw) and early One UI 7 have not had any issues.

Tarabyte, 16 Apr 2025"More stable" The whole reason for the paused one... moreWell, my main point is that nobody cares how fast the android version number changes on their phone (as long as there is plenty of UI features and monthly security updates), with exception of irrelevant number of people obsessed by it.
The last point is about stability and is based on my own experience with Samsung devices + observing the smartphone news for the past 12 years.
Speaking of Samsung devices: I had S8 for 2 years, S21 for 3 years and now s24u for over a year.
I received my one UI 7 update on April 11 and I have not noticed any bugs.
I'm not a Samsung fanboy. I do think there is a lot to criticize Samsung for. They did release one UI 7 very late and a critical issue still slipped into the stable release for some devices. They offer worse camera specs, smaller battery, slower charging, no high PWM dimming and yet they charge a higher price. It looks like they won't catch up in a few years and I'm already seriously considering getting a flagship from vivo or oppo as my next phone.

ProMaxUltraAreBricks, 16 Apr 2025Like I said before, this massive Vulkan One UI 7 transition... moreThe s25 comes with One UI 7 out of the box- hence why its not seen as the beginning of the Update rollout, since it didn't need an update. Either way, Samsung would begin rollouts to previous gen phones around October or November. Its now April, and One UI 7 still isn't rolling out to older devices even 5/6 months past the typical release date. (not mentioning the handful of s24 and fold/flip 6 devices that got the update before it was paused)
It's also funny that you mention them taking extra time to avoid bricking phones, seeing as the rollout was paused for that exact reason after it immediately began soft bricking exynos variants of the s24

jiyen235, 16 Apr 2025people buying newer phones. Duh.Your conspiracy theory about "delaying" a software update to boost S25 sales for Samsung is unconvincing, as according to Counterpoint :
"Initial sales of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series in Western Europe were 9% below that of the S24 series a year ago".
Pick a better argument.

Give them time to avoid bricking millions of phones and receiving even worse backlash.
Also, people still got security patches while waiting.
The One UI 8 update for the A16 will arrive sooner.

As someone already stated, the ... moreMore of a 6 Month wait, since previous One UI versions began their rollouts around October/November.
And a lot of the frustration around the severely delayed rollout comes from Samsung's claim that they will support newer phones for 6/7 years. When a company boasts that they will support their devices for that long, it's reasonable for users to expect that those updates will also be delivered in a timely manner, especially when they paid a whole lot of money for that device.

[deleted post]I gave you my points (the same ones given to you hours ago by someone else), like that normal people do not care about a small three-month announced wait for a phone software update.
You seem to have no further valid arguments other than a "long wait" (only 3 months) or a conspiracy to allow Samsung to boost S25 sales, but, oh look:
"As the the report by Counterpoint Research, Apple overtook Samsung with a narrow margin in Q1 2025 smartphone market. The former had 19% market share with 4% growth, while the latter dropped to 18% share due to 5% decline."
Well, their "delay" One UI 7 tactics did not work well, AS NO ONE CARE.
And you took 'touch grass' as an insult? It was genuine advice about gaining some new perspective...

jiyen235, 16 Apr 2025that waiting so long is only for the devices' stabilit... moreOnly a three-month wait.
As someone already stated, the average phone user does not care intensely about the exact timing of a major OS version drop, especially when security patches keep arriving and a date was given for the major OS release.
If you're still crying this much about a announced 3-month "delay", go outside to touch some grass.

Most people won't notice or don't care about what Android version they're running and those who know and care aren't dumb enough to buy a new phone just because of that.
I'm not defending samsung by any means, what they did with this update is downright embarassing, but to suggest that they did that intentionally doesn't make sense to me.
