Samsung Members officially details One UI 7.0 rollout

I have Tecno spark 10 pro And it's just an Android update that's been around for almost 2 years, meaning the claims for the first year are invalid.

    "Significantly worse"? They've literally had just one bad year of not being able to offer software updates as fast as they used to. The trend before this year had been that they were becoming significantly faster. I remember reading articles where Samsung offered their new OneUI 6 updates a whole month faster than when OneUI 5 released for phone the past year.

    Besides, the fact that they've begun work on OneUI 8 gives me hope that they'll resume their fast update schedule again.

For app compabilities I guess. Besides, every new Android features/change are not as groundbreaking as before, compared to Android 2 to 9? days.

      Other brand (chinese) phones have more powerful hardware, but why they didnt utilize the hardware enough for more new Android upgrades?

I expect much much more from Infinix too, if Infinix makes their update policy same as or even more than Samsung's midrange (6 generations of Android and Security updates). I would consider it, I don't mind paying more.

        I'm confident that their hardware is very capable, if Samsung can do 4 years back then, why can't Infinix, Tecno, and Transsion Group phones in general? Instead of their mediocre ahh 2 (or 1 year because of last year Android cheat) of Android upgrades?

          Also, major Android updates don't add many meaningful features on their own, anyway.

          Samsung, however, added significant changes to its One UI OS, such as the transition from OpenGL to Vulkan.
          These big changes improve performance and fluidity for users.

            Goodluck 7yrs in with a Samsung phone that will struggle to do the basics without incessant lagging,bugs,overheating and fast battery drain. Updated Android phones might be necessary for security and new features but the cons are more than the pros. Rather stick with the openbox software in the long-term or upgrade every year or two if you never miss an update

              No, but that's part of the reason why we should collectively expect more, companies should be improving year over year, instead of getting significantly worse.

                  There is nothing wrong with OneUi 7 update. They just want to sell more s25 phone series. They are delivered delaying it to see if more people buy the s25.

                      Besides, where are people moaning about Android upgrades now? Last time I've heard that Android upgrades makes your phone slow? You're now given extra time to enjoy your older Android versions, and now you guys are moaning about new android upgrades?

                                  So glad I disabled updates on my S24 plus, they took so much time for this update and still managed to botch it out.

                                      Are we justified in demanding a fast rollout of android updates? Absolutely. But at the same time, I'd rather get a stable release than a rushed and buggy one that cripples my phone.

                                      To the peeps saying Samsung' software update policy is a joke - Did you all just collectively decide to forget that these past few years, it was literally Samsung providing software updates at a crazy speed, sometimes even before pixel devices got them? The very fact that we are so casually demanding android updates is literally because Samsung set up such an insane precedent by making us used to that speed. If they're having troubles for one update (because iirc they're making a lot of under the hood changes - defaulting vulkan graphics apis etc) I think they kinda get to have some leeway.
