Like their Playstation that is not made for everyone as you need to be in specific country to get to make account in there. Never mind that Sony phones have always being expensive.

            Xiaomi = F or G

              With such label, several phones from some brands would rot forever on shelves. On the other hand, they would use that as marketing for other models and even raise their price.

                      Is this why Chinese phone brands now promise up to 6 years of updates in Europe?

                        It's unfortunate that this label doesn't state years of software support so it would publicly shame brands that offer poor software support and it would also force companies to openly state their update policies with fixed status so it's not like "we may offer 3 years of updates, but we may just as well do none". No one will complain if it's more, but minimum needs to be openly defined so buyer can instantly know without digging through pages of online results hoping they have the right info on that.

                              Software support: Devices must receive operating system upgrades for at least 5 years from the end-of-sale date.

                              But It's possible this article is not accurate.

                                        potato4k, 10 hours ago5 years of software updates is a welcomed requirements, alt... moreThe Galaxy A16 seems a bit like it was designed for those requirements (even though it is not required to fulfill them) as its changes, apart from the bigger display and thinner bezels and thinner design, are adding IP54 and increasing OS upgrades from 4 to 6 years. And Galaxy A models get a successor after 1 year, which means 5 years after end of sales which matches this requirement.
